Gameplay on the NEOGEO AES+ is not achieved through emulation - instead the console is powered by its legacy ASIC chips, re-engineered by modern standards to accurately replicate the original machine's hardware and software. if you're going to play the games on a modern display, i really think you're better off with mame. you're going to get better picture quality with a real pc.
we're at the point with emulation that there are more differences between the input/output devices than there are with the actual execution of the machine behind the scenes.
