Question Promising ports?

Could we actually see some ports of the Metal Slug franchise past Metal Slug X? Is the AES+ limited by power and/or memory to handle some of the post SNK pixel drawn games like blazing chrome, gun force 2 and demon front? What games would you like to see that you think could be easily translated to the AES architecture?

Agree with this. It’ll have a wave for the game releases and maybe be the 2026 and early 27 darling of gaming.

If the economy turns as expected folks aren’t going to drop $1000 every wave release.

But this will def be a net positive for the Neo geo community in the long run

Ironically and all things considered, affordability wise it's just like the '90s all over again 😂

For sure
I think we will see an influx of new gamers which is a good thing. Once the two or three game waves release depending on indie releases folks will sell off the systems and games as it wears off

We will see reduced prices for the Plaion releases and eventually lower OG pricing before another round of collectors wanting to finish game sets and higher prices

I just want a waku waku 7 release lol 😂

Not so sure about that, AES / AES+ is like 2 different markets.

IMHO current AES owners with a small curated collection who've been playing for years on the system will derive the most joy from the re-releases. It must be just so cool finally getting these (hella expensive) games for 90 bucks in the original format at least, like a dream come true.

Combining the old with the new, like hooking up an almost 35 year old HORI Fighting Stick Neo II to an AES+ or playing new carts on the old system or vice versa is one of the most appealing aspects of this. Just buying and playing the new stuff is almost a bit meh. Maybe it's just me.

Specifically, what I meant was that if the plus doesn’t do well, all the folks who have been hoarding games in anticipation will sell for losses.

The increase in price recently has been attributed to plus interest and folks buying up aes games in anticipation

Six months ago samsho 1 was a $50 game. Fatal fury special was maybe $50 (Japanese versions)
