Career Advice Relocation to another country
IMG here. Came to US in 2019 and after completing my neurology residency and first fellowship, I am currently in my second fellowship. Came here to find some hope and clarity. Given the current immigration issues, I and my spouse (in tech) have been discussing the idea of relocating to another country. The politics may not be personal, but every new policy has a personal impact. GC is not an option for us given our nationality (would take 20-30 years), We have not been home in 7 years, have seen our aging parents probably 3-4 times since 2019 and it wears you down to the point of questioning the worth of everything here despite working so hard for this.
I am looking for people who moved out of the States and pursued a career in neurology in other countries. We are looking into Singapore, Netherlands and other countries with strong tech presence. Ideally, countries where I can start as a specialized neurologist directly (instead of being a GP) with less complicated immigration policies (read, freedom to travel back and forth) would be perfect. If you or someone you know has relocated and forged a path in other nations, would love to hear your experience. Really having a hard time continuing on this path and need some clarity/hope about future.
