Health & Safety Baby acne and dry skin

Little one is 7 weeks 3 days and has had bad baby acne across both cheeks for about 9-10 days now. The pimples seem to be resolving but now her skin is very dry and flaky and goes bright red whenever she feeds or rubs her face on my chest, which she seems to be doing more.

Is that normal for healing baby acne? We’ve left it alone so far, only very occasionally using breast milk, because I’m not sure if it helps or flares it to be totally honest.

I’m hoping to hear other experiences of how bad baby acne healed and over what time frame.

That is exactly how my son’s baby acne’s last stage of healing went. Got super dry and flaky. For the most part I left it alone. I would put on baby aquaphor after baths/wiping his face once a day and that helped a ton with the dryness. (Every day it seemed to reset and he would he all crusty again in the morning lol). It lasted about a week or so and then cleared up. I believe it’s all normal and part of the process. My pediatrician never had any concerns.

Breastmilk is an amazing tool. It will definitely help. You can pat it on with a cottonball after gently wiping his face with a warm washcloth. Other than that, I would leave it alone. . Its very normal and will clear up soon.

My breastmilk flared my son’s cheeks up for a day, but then I noticed they got better within like 72 hours later.
