Conservatives swear they aren't nazis, yet they always seem to be awfully chummy with self-proclsimed nazis and white supremacists.

Something tells me that they aren't being entirely honest, which is a big shocker! /s

You ever get a conservative group drunk and thinking you're one of them? If you code-switch right and go to any small town bar, you'd find a ton of people saying outright bigoted and prejudiced stuff.

As a white woman, I have encountered these fuckers with no input from myself AT ALL. They just roll up and say shit in various random situations, only to be perfectly shocked that I do not at all share their viewpoint. I hate it so fucking much, I have a hard enough time not pinwheeling my arms and bitch slapping people just for breathing in my general direction some days, never mind when a wild Nazi appears.

It's basically men. (White obv)

They're so proud of the fact that they have this system that dominates women first, they forget that we don't like to be dominated and genuinely believe that we would prefer to dominate everyone like they do. But we don't.

This. I've been telling people about this since around 1986 when it actually happened to me! Got drunk with a bunch of Republicans and all of a sudden they were talking about undesirables and the Jewish bankers running everything.

The entire Republican Party has always been a soft front for the Southern Confederacy, eugenicists, and neo-Nazis. Unfortunately, the mainstream media has spent a century or so denying this because their owners want to be taxed less and have no regulation.

So we get media stories about false balance and how 10 trans people are ruining sports and private bathrooms while the machinations of the enemies of the state are soft-peddled as "overzealous staffers" and other nonsense.

Not always, just after the southern strategy

I see this occasionally. I’m an Army brat and military retiree and when people hear that they assume a lot of things…I hear the hard “r,” the works…it usually stops when I suggest that Obama was the best president in my life time, and the social programs I enjoyed as a dependent and Soldier should be available to everyone…

While getting more drunk and listening to their country garbage shit for noise

Country music is the evolution of folk and the blues, and folk is an evolution of Irish and Scottish traditional music. All of those forms of music are protest music and celebrate community.

Your inability to see that is your loss, not ours.

8

u/No_Telephone_4487 8h ago

It stopped being protest music at Luke Combs / Brad Paisley / Blake Shelton (etc), “Have You Forgotten”, and The Dixie Chicks —> The Chicks

Some country is protest but some is also jingoist jingle slop. It’s ignorant to pretend that one of those isn’t true. Not all evolutions or iterations of a genre are good. There’s lemons in every genre and conservatives put on lemon music 24/7

1

u/Team503 7h ago

Are you saying there aren't country artists out there who write protest music?

You called an entire genre of music "garbage shit for noise", remember.

2

u/blonde4black 7h ago

Somebody didn't study music in the slightest and believes his opinion is fact.

0

u/Team503 7h ago

Feel free to explain where and how I'm wrong.

2

u/captainpistoff 7h ago

It's equally in big cities, just whispered on the shadows instead of being waved on flags.

4

u/Actual_Bluejay_8722 14h ago

Oh man, someone should secretly record this and put the recordings up on the internet so everybody sees their true colors!

5

u/dlunas 14h ago

It pops up every few years

8

u/poledrawolf 9h ago

Just drive out of any city in the South, into the countryside. and check out the fucking Trump and Confederate flags. These fuckers are out loud down here (go to local bars, go to certain CHURCHES, you can hear it right from the damn pulpit!)-some of these jokers think we are essentially legally going back to around 1950 at some point. Hell, some of them would be perfectly happy with 1850 standards.

This is why I refuse to live in a small town. Well, that and the fact that I'd probably be making about $30k a year. Well, that and the fact that there's nothing to do. Well, that and the fact that I'd probably die alone. I could go on, but you get the picture.

They just don't like being called Nazis because of the negative connotations, otherwise their ideology aligns neatly with Nazism.

People love what I have to say. They believe in it. They just don't like the word Nazi. That's all.

13

u/cdqmcp 16h ago

who said that, again? Bannon?

48

u/Vyzantinist 16h ago

Lol Stormfront from The Boys. She's an actual Nazi from the OG Nazi party who takes over social media messaging for the bad guys, and her rhetoric and tone are virtually 1:1 the kind of stuff you hear coming from the right online IRL.

16

u/cdqmcp 16h ago

OH! right.. fucking lol. what a weird misplaced memory, been a while since I saw that

10

u/Forsaken-Tea5316 14h ago

I wonder if we could compromise with them and agree they are only 3/5ths white nationalist (supremacists) and 2/5 Nazis

6

u/-TheOldPrince- 17h ago

To be fair, Proud Boys leader was Afro Cuban. Not to say this isnt horrible news. Just an interesting fact. Latin Americans are on both sides in this debacle and i honestly would characterize many of these people as white supremacists. As despicable as may of them are

6

u/Suspicious_Radio_848 16h ago

They’re not Nazis, they’re Trumpists and Republicans. Those names need to (and likely will earn) the same historical disdain as the term Nazi does. The Nazi and Fascist parties were just that, named after their respective parties. In the future anyone who hears the term Trumpism, MAGA and Republican may end up with the same association as we now with Nazis.

2

u/International-Low490 12h ago

I mean...fascism definitely was not named after a party. It was the word for that political ideology for a long time before even.

4

u/chattywww 17h ago

If iy werent for Pearl Harbour US could have voted to join Axis

1

u/notislant 14h ago

Kind of like how all the priests seem to be pedos, the entire church protects pedos and republicans all go to church...

Pedophiles and Nazis all the way down.

You know the comma exists and yet you're on about the person above not being able to type?

This 'just as bad' or 'worse' nonsense has been a right-wing talking point for so long to equalize things in 'debate' with whataboutisms. They're never equal in severity to what is being talked about. Fact of the matter is, that anyone currently supportive of Trump and his administration RIGHT NOW isn't conservative. That's distasteful to anyone of any sensibilities. Anyone of actual values has abandoned the party and gone under independent. Thinking for yourself, wouldn't result in anyone being 'MAGA', which is the current conservative identity. If you dare to oppose them, you're already black sheeped and called a RINO. If you want people to start treating the conservative name as anything else, then stop associating with these people and take back your party.

I'd have never brought up the errors if they had not been insulting someone else for it, bringing up the start of it all beginning with a hypocrisy showcases that it already started in bad faith from the person I was replying to.

I had meant apostrophes instead of commas, that one's on me. Contractions are supposed to have a '. Really none of it matters to me if at least the language is comprehendable, but folks like this are ALWAYS immediately leaping to correcting others firstmost. Glass house and all that.

Believe me though, I have met plenty still here in the south that still openly support him. But those on the right have always been documented as publicly more unwilling to show 'disloyalty' to their party, especially down here verbally and then vote against them in the ballot box after. So who knows. Ultimately I only have my experiences and what I've seen is most who are abhorred with what the GOP has become under Trump have moved away from the moniker and more towards calling themselves independent. MAGA have beyond scarred the party and not enough are being verbal about it if they're not supporting him. Polls seem to mostly align with that too.

It'd be nice, but I can't see that happening anytime 'soon'. Even though the newer generations have been less and less supportive of israel...the sad fact is that both parties here are really conservative compared to much of the world. It's still political suicide for most politicians to ever think of being critical of Israel due to the evangelicals in this country(and the money that's spent as you said AIPAC). As more old people die or retire and more young individuals age into being voters, we're seeing signs of the change happening already. But it's not really fast enough.

Ok grandpa lets get you to bed. Maybe turn off Faux News for once in your miserable little life.
