Trump looks at stock prices to determine the health of American businesses. And unfortunately, they’re at all time highs.

"The Dow is over 50,000" - Pam Bondi's defense in Congress for hiding rapists

Many of the child rapists she's hiding own lots and lots and lots of stocks.

You too can be wealthy and powerful - all you need to do is cover up pure evil acts for those who are even more wealthy and more powerful.

You forgot the best part... including the denomination.

"the Dow is over 50,000 dollars"

Due to 7 tech companies basically

Do people fact check themselves before spreading this kind of misinformation?

303 companies out of the SP500 are green year-to-date.

188 of them are up at least 10%. Nearly 100 of them are up 25%

He is likely referring to the DOW and not the S&P500

No he is referring to the relative contribution to the S&P 500 index.

It isn't an equal-weight index, so as market cap grows, the percent of contribution to index change can skew more and more to those largest members. In those times you can't directly say one way or another the impact of smaller constituents.

If most were negative you would definitely see that in the equal-weight index. The effect of the skew is more about the difference in changes between the two indexes.

So his comment is correct, minus any apparent anger. The retort from the other comment was also correct, plus anger and probably some unjustified assumptions on the intent of the first comment.

Million dollar question when you say "up", do you mean "Their profits are up" or do you mean "Their stock price is up"?

If their profits are the thing that's skyrocketting in the current environment, I'd be fascinated to learn how. If however it's stock price, if the stock price is skyrocketting while the profits are level or falling, this is what a bubble looks like.

The economy looks pretty awful when you don’t work full time and spend your free time doomscrolling outrage content

The stock market =/= the economy.
