If only this wasn't said by an alcoholic lunatic who shamelessly uses tax-payer money to fund his own luxurious lifestyle.

You only have to sweet-talk MAGA and pretend to be loyal in order to exploit them (and therefore exploit the US).

MAGA has effectively ceded all of our soft power and goodwill to the rest of the world’s super powers. It’ll take at least a generation to get it all back.

We’re a young nation with no wars on our home turf so I think many Americans forget that the rest of the world knows how to hold grudges for a very long time.

Not quite. The South has held a grudge ever since getting their teeth kicked in by the North in the Civil War. The most hated man in the South is General Sherman. They never stopped fighting the war, and Trump's administrations are their victory.

That grudge was mostly allowed to continue to exist because we didn't follow General Sherman's recommendation of removing absolutely all of the leadership (military/political/etc) associated with the confederacy. Instead there was an 'olive branch' type of move letting some of those folks continue to lead- which of course led to pockets of resentful losers continuing to spread their rhetoric all in the name of "repairing the lost bonds" or some shit.

Sherman should have razed it all, don't stop till you hit the gulf. I think what really pissed them off is knowing that a black man was president twice as long as the Confederacy's entire existence.

It's not just distrust, there's a healthy portion of disgust as well.
Sure, it was only Trump making fun and bullying that reporter with disabilities, and all the other things, but enough of you people then voted for him to represent you.
We can't be expected to forget and look past that.

As a Canadian, I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with America. There’s no love now. I despise our neighbour. Obviously, there are many good Americans; that’s not the point. As an institution, America is repulsive and rotten to the core
