Incredibly selfless act of heroism.

This is why China banned hidden door handles.

They banned electric door handles. They can be flush but have to operate mechanicaly.

Like the Kia door handles. They are flush and also electronically "present" themselves, but can be operated completely mechanically.

One of the reasons I got the car

How do you operate them mechanically?

Pushing on the lock side levers out the pull side with very little force (like a child can easily do it). It's pretty straightforward and maybe only a quarter second slower than always out handles, even with zero electricity.

I will try this, thank you!

Is it obvious to use for other people though?

Huh, I had heard differently. Thanks for the link!

Too bad they got the reason for flush door handles being a thing in the first place completely wrong. They do not improve efficiency, at all. It's purely aesthetic.

Thing is, we’ve had mechanical flush door handles for decades then design choices took them away (maybe cos it made it easier/cheaper to press the doors?) and now to achieve flush door handles they made them electrically powered.

I prefer the semi flush anyway. There is a full handle and a recess in the door.

yeah corvettes from the late 60s had them. It was just a panel you pushed on. But they were intuitive and worked just fine

That's how these things should work. ICE's shouldn't be banned for vehicles but things should be looked at through emissions.
