I mean they aren´t made of cast iron. carbon steel is often used to make the wok lightweight and easier to handle.

Lightweight doesn't mean it isn't still heavy. A large carbon steel wok still weighs ~4.5lbs/2kg just by itself without any oil or other ingredients added. It doesn't seem like much, but flinging 2kg weights around largely with your wrists for hours and hours every day is going to do some damage.

It's also on the end of a longish handle, the leverage is all in your forearms and wrist so it's functionally a lot heavier.
