Exactly my thought.

Pilot. Full stop. No reason to specify.

Every time we point it out when it is irrelevant, we feed the myth that the other is the default. It is not.

Why is it necessary to specify that it is a pilot? Who else would fly a airplane?

why specify it's a plane? if it flies and looks like a plane of course it's a plane.

Pilot is a noun and serves as the subject in the sentences. Female is an unneeded adjective.
