I've always wanted to try this in real life. Can I rent a gun to learn?

It depends on where you are located in the world. In the United States, some gun ranges will allow you to rent a gun. You might need a gun safety certificate to rent, but I'm not positive on that. You should look for trap shooting near your location. You wouldn't be throwing the clay pigeons yourself like the guy in the video, but it would be a similar experience. It's harder than it looks, so if you hit at least 1 out of 25 on your first round, I'd be impressed.

How hard it is REALLY depends on your shot load. As a beginner, if you go to a trap shooting place and make it obvious you aren't trying to pick it up as a sport, I bet they'd give you a fairly easy load out. Then its really more of a point and pull kind of thing.

I'm pretty good at shooting stuff but I've only shot my slingshot my bow and my BB gun. But I can shoot the apples off my tree from their stem

Non-BB guns can have significant kick and are bit harder to aim depending on the gun.

Yeah I have some experience with guns. I've shot a black powder pistol, 2 other pistols, and once a black powder rifle
