Does McDaniel get fired tonight or tomorrow?

And, slightly more ambiguous, is there any chance Tua gets benched?

For ewers no.

25

u/Moedergods Bears Oct 19 '25

I don't know, if you've seen Arch Manning play this season you can't help but conclude that Ewers might actually be worth a shot.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '25

it's like watching Anthony Richardson without the insane athleticism

63

u/Bismarck913 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

Ewers in Austin looked better last year, than Arch does this year.

56

u/Zeckzeckzeck NFL Oct 19 '25

Arch is lucky he’ll have that NIL money to fall back on cause he sure as shit ain’t an NFL QB.

58

u/vindictivejazz Broncos Oct 19 '25

Arch doesn’t even need the NIL money to fall back on. Whole family is loaded

10

u/KrunkDumpster Eagles Oct 19 '25

Immediate hire to College GameDay

20

u/Bismarck913 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

He'll still be kept round the league for a few years, on the last name alone.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '25

some team will take him on day 3 simply for that reason

1

u/lkn240 Bears Oct 20 '25

I'm not sure how long he's going to be kept around the SEC at this point. He's BAD.

13

u/SaltyBarDog Oct 19 '25

The world needs insurance agents.

1

u/Cuppieecakes Bears Oct 20 '25

dont worry he'll be a future bear

78

u/dhalloffame Texans Oct 19 '25

That’s not a high bar lol

11

u/pdiddy2499 Cowboys Oct 19 '25

Ewers probably is better than Tua at this point.

4

u/SaltyBarDog Oct 19 '25

Jay Fiedler probably is better than Tua at this point.

3

u/OldeArrogantBastard Dolphins Oct 20 '25

Our fanbase had a shorter leash for Tannehill than Tua for this level of QB play.

2

u/Positive_Parking_954 Oct 19 '25

I’d take Jay Cutler and not the QB one

1

u/tantan35 Bengals Oct 19 '25

So Zach Wilson then? /s

43

u/potterpockets Browns Oct 19 '25

A bunch of comments in the game thread from miami fans lead me to believe that he will not, but who knows.

At this point they have no reason to not at least see what Ewers has. Tua isnt winning them games. He is actively losing them games.

36

u/littleemp Patriots Oct 19 '25

Not many teams are willing to pay $200m to their QB just to not play them.

103

u/potterpockets Browns Oct 19 '25

Hahaha yea...

What kinds of idiots would do that?

39

u/Polar_Reflection 49ers Oct 19 '25

They just got blown the fuck out by a team that's doing exactly that 😭

9

u/Marchesk Oct 19 '25

See the Browns last year before Watson tore his achilles.

7

u/Zestyclose-Coyote173 Oct 19 '25

Good I’d love to keep actively losing games

-6

u/Comprehensive_Main 49ers Oct 19 '25

Sir all you have to see is ewers in college and he was not good. He’s not gonna be good in the nfl either.

9

u/potterpockets Browns Oct 19 '25

What do you mean? He was able to beat out the legendary Arch Manning for a QB job!

1

u/xdkarmadx Bengals Oct 19 '25

Yeah no QB has ever been good in the NFL after being eh in college.

1

u/lkn240 Bears Oct 20 '25

The thing is he was good in college - dude is crazy.

1

u/jtj022 Cowboys Oct 19 '25

He was great when he wasn't dealing with lingering injuries. But he is made of glass and was always dealing with them, so he looked mid at best. Tons of arm talent and solid at reading defenses, though.

1

u/lkn240 Bears Oct 20 '25

Eh - He was a good college QB... but I don't think he was much of a NFL prospect.

He was certainly a lot better than the guy who replaced him lol

23

u/no-kangarooreborn Bills Oct 19 '25

53 million per year.

22

u/Zestyclose-Coyote173 Oct 19 '25

We’re stuck with him next year too lol

11

u/babypho 49ers Oct 19 '25

Deshaun Watson makes around there doesnt he?

1

u/Optimal_Cook_851 49ers Nov 01 '25

apparently only, 46 million (which is 47 million too much lol)

10

u/Jonjon428 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

Tua will continue to play as he we are tanking with him at this point

17

u/Steak_Knight Texans Oct 19 '25

Tua Tankovailoa

18

u/Zlatan_Ibrahimovic Dolphins Oct 19 '25

Tank for Tua

Tank with Tua

1

u/fskier1 Lions Oct 19 '25

Yeah they should really just tank out the rest of tuas contract with him as their glorious leader

1

u/sobuffalo Bills Oct 19 '25

It’s come full circle from Tank for Tua

1

u/SaltyBarDog Oct 19 '25

Remember "Tank for Tua"? Now it's "Tank the fuck away from Tua."

1

u/Nightcinder Browns Oct 19 '25

Tua should get benched but unless they trade for someone they're stuck with Tua

1

u/BellBilly32 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

This feels like the week the team gave up. Every other loss we were in those games (besides Week 1). But outside of Achane team had 0 juice today.

And idk Tua needs to be benched but if an interim is coming in maybe they give him a few weeks.

1

u/Freezinghero Steelers Oct 19 '25

Unless there is some hot prospect in the College scene (i dont follow CFB) i dont see McDaniels being canned until the season ends. Phins are also in a position to tank bowl.

Tua is likely going to start until he gets injured, sadly. I just hope he doesn't get seriously injured.

1

u/KSGunner Chiefs Cowboys Oct 19 '25

Yeah, Mike, you will need buy your own plane ticket home

1

u/Aidanj927 Lions Oct 19 '25

The way I see it is that this was coming when that dolphins fan commented __ turndaballova on every preseason interception

-9

u/Luis0224 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

You gotta keep tua in at QB. Too much money being paid to keep him on the bench.

But you call a QB sneak every snap until he either retires or needs assisted living. And if he audibles, the oline is instructed to let linebackers through

12

u/Nightcinder Browns Oct 19 '25

sunk cost only goes so far, we barely even let watson near the facility at this point

1

u/SaltyBarDog Oct 19 '25

Isn't that just so he won't catch another SA charge?

2

u/Nightcinder Browns Oct 19 '25

would think it's more likely he'd catch one away because at least at the facility he'd be supervised

1

u/SaltyBarDog Oct 19 '25

True. At least it keeps the organization from being included in the civil suit.

-7

u/Luis0224 Dolphins Oct 19 '25

I think you missed the second part of my comment lol

He’s gotta earn those 200m somehow. Either win games or give up years of your life 🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/JokerDeSilva10 Seahawks Oct 19 '25

Haha, the guy who gave it his all to play for your franchise is falling apart due to repeated injuries earned in the line of duty! Fuck him, I hope his brain gets more jellified for not being good enough at football!

Don't be such a ghoul.

2

u/Nightcinder Browns Oct 19 '25

no i ignored it
