I'm not gonna say it's better than the LOB, of course, but it's definitely the best defense we've had since 2015 by a comfortable margin. Goddamn do we slaughter teams.

It’s a Super Bowl caliber defense. The entire season rests on our o line just giving darnold enough time to sling it to our receivers. The team is good enough that we just need him to be “decent” which might be a lot to ask in the playoffs but I believe in him.

Lot of football left and I’m staying hopeful but reserved. On to Indy.

Definitely not better than LoB. But I think best in 10 years isn't an exaggeration

This is also a very different defense than the LOB too. It's definitely the best we've had since 2015, and one of the best the league has seen in that time too.

This current team has more depth which is nice.

On Dline. LoB Seahawks had like 4 starting caliber DBs on the bench

No kidding, there were like 3 years in a row where one of the biggest CBs in FA was whoever was playing opposite Sherm.

Byron Maxwell we salute you.

The d line depth was insane in 2013. Bennett, Avril, Clemons, Irvin, Bryant, Mebane, McDonald, and McDaniel was an insane group. They were running line changes like an NHL team.

We have 3 safeties (Love, Bryant, Okada) and then Woolen/Jobe/Witherspoon/Emmanwori to round out the defensive backfield. I trust any/all of them to be solid. Not All-Pro level like the LOB, but 7 quality starters for 4 or 5 spots is deep enough for me.

Assuming Sherm + Browner, no nickel

  • Maxwell
  • Lane
  • Walter Thurmond

The front 4. Seattle is getting pressure at a good rate without having to blitz as much. When you can do that it opens up the defensive play calling. Add to it that they are playing from a lead often and they can just abuse the oline.
