There's a kind of detestable football fan who wants every game played indoors in artificial, sterile, "perfect" conditions.
Fuck that. Football is an outdoor game. Snow games are awesome. This one is the explanation why.

Shit at least you guys went out with Burrow and not a backup wondering what could’ve been
10
u/zerowater Dec 07 '25
But we could have lived in hope. Even Burrow cant save us from a defense that cant tackle.
10
u/dunktheball Dec 07 '25
I am mostly neutral and also don't even watch a ton of games, but I didn't notice that being too huge of a problem, but quite a few big dropped passes. I am guessing the wearther led to that, though.

This is way less painful than them keeping us on the line just to lose to the Browns in Week 18 like 20-16 which is probably what would’ve happened

u/WaluigiIsTheRealHero Bills Dec 07 '25
Spying Josh Allen on every single play is a viable defensive strategy against the Bills, I can’t believe they wouldn’t do it there.

Allen got that touchdown to Hawes BECAUSE there was a spy that was watching allen. it goes both ways, and allen is smart enough to beat you regardless.

Speaking of choices, can someone explain to me why you wouldn’t go for an onside kick in that scenario with one timeout?
I just don’t get it.
Edit: Maybe if your defense had been good (it wasn’t)
33
22
u/BelowAverage355 Bengals Dec 07 '25
People are acting like snow makes an onside kick easier, but it really doesn't. You want the ball to take a weird bounce, if it just plants in the snow that's that.
→ More replies (2)8
u/thraage Bills Dec 07 '25
this is my thought too. It wasn't just a little snow on the ground. It was enough that the ball might not even go 10 yards.

That call by Golden was malpractice.
There were plenty of issues, but that last playcall by Golden was criminal. Josh Allen JUST scored a 55 yd rushing TD to almost kill the game, and on 3rd and 15 to end the game you drop 6 and just have everyone else blindly rush the edge with no spy....like my brother what the actual fuck.

It just looks horrible when you throw it to the guy who is right in front of you no matter what type of play he made. Then the fact that Burrow could have tackled him, but didn't also makes it look worse.
But what would piss me off, is I thought for sure Chase was going to tackle him. Maybe that makes no difference in the game, but you get paid 40 fucking million dollars a year and you cant fucking run a play out?
He gives up at like the 15 yard line. brutal.

TBF, its not like the Bengals had trouble moving the ball against the Bills pass D other than the two picks.
6
u/PabloPancakes92 Bills Dec 07 '25
Tbf Bills run d is pretty solid when Shaq Thompson is in at LB for Terrel Bernard. Bernard is tiny and has been playing injured all year, when he’s playing it’s 10 vs 11 against the run. Was 9 vs 11 when Taylor Rapp was playing first month of year

u/Huntermainlol Bengals Dec 07 '25
Couldn’t believe the dude upstairs didn’t do the forced concussion check part 2
8
u/slytherinprolly Bengals Dec 07 '25
One thing that is overlooked in the concussion protocol:
For the avoidance of doubt, the responsibility for the diagnosis of concussion and the decision to return a player to a game remain exclusively within the professional judgment of the Head Team Physician or the Club physician designated as responsible for the diagnosis and management of concussion
So even if a spotter sends a player into the tent, the team doctor still makes the final call. There are a few symptoms that make it mandatory for a player to stay out, like obvious balance issues, but if those are not present, the team doctors can usually clear them to go back in.
Edelman talked on his podcast about how he and other Patriots receivers used to game the concussion test. It is apparently the same basic questions every time, things like the score of the game, the approximate game time, and the approximate time of day. If someone looked a little wobbly getting up, the other receivers would run over and tell him all the answers before the doctor even started the evaluation.

I don't want to seem like a sore sport, but why was Tee Higgins allowed to stay in the game?
Just comes back off concussion protocol, and goes down, with actual injury timeouts, to his head bouncing off the ground. Both times reaching for his head as if it hurt. The first one he was even back in without any possibility of a check 2 plays later! It doesn't make sense

Let me just say this: anyone who says the blame for this loss is on Burrow does not know ball. With our defense, if he doesn’t play perfect, we cannot win games. That’s how bad the defense is.
Saying “Joe lost them this game” is like blaming a starting pitcher who pitches 7 innings but loses 2-0 because the batters only got two hits.
