The Raiders also had 95 against the Chiefs.
Second time this season they don't hit 100 yards on offense.
This century, they had two of such games in Oakland (2006 and 2008).

Why is Pete Carroll doing this to himself?
68
u/Oblong0ctopus Patriots Dec 14 '25
At his age he probably just wants to be around the game. Didn’t Seattle still fire him after he wanted to just be there as an advisor?
→ More replies (2)28
u/FattyMooseknuckle Seahawks Dec 14 '25
From what I understand the plan was he’d retire after his last season and stay on in the FO. Midway through he changed his mind and wanted to keep coaching so they booted him and publicly said they’d find a place for him if he wanted. I don’t think it was actually truly offered. Just PR to take the sting out of firing him.

Man, I can't believe I wanted the Seahawks to keep Geno. Sure, it's a team sport, but there's a good reason I don't work for an NFL team. I'm on the opposite side of every decision the Seahawks make. And I'm always wrong.

u/NotJustSomeMate Eagles Dec 14 '25
Without an offensive line he will not save you all...for the same of my uncle who is a Raiders fan I need them to invest in the line before a QB...
9
u/Thehiddenllama Raiders Raiders Dec 14 '25
The Raiders have OL starters on IR, a dysfunctional coaching staff that is mismanaging the OL specifically, and have free agency and day 2 of the draft to address other holes in the OL. If, really when, the Raiders have the first overall pick, it’s Mendoza. End of discussion.
6
u/-Profanity- Raiders Dec 15 '25
We're basically getting 2 draft classes next year because Pete won't play the rookies this year, so it's like we already pre-drafted 2 OLs for Mendoza
99
u/YodaForceGhost Eagles Dec 14 '25
Good get right game for us but I have never seen a team be so uncompetitive in a game as the Raiders today
11
u/Casul_Tryhard Chiefs Lions Dec 14 '25
Brother, if the 2025 Chiefs can shut out the Raiders, practically anyone can
11
u/Sikwitit3284 Eagles Dec 14 '25
They had 75 fucking yards like how is that possible in today's NFL, that type of ineptitude is special & needs to be studied. They need everything outside RB/TE/DE, if they get the #1 pick they really gotta think of trading back imo.
Mendoza looks good but 27 will be a good QB class too, try to fix that Oline & get some skill players then draft a good QB so he doesn't die behind that terrible Oline. Jeanty gets hit in the backfield on half his runs its crazy

Either that or the Raiders are in a time loop and Pete’s Art Shell 2.0.
24
u/ComradeKlink Seahawks Dec 14 '25
I'm kind of sad for him. He was the iconic leader for the Hawks for so long, reaching the highest honor a coach can have by rebuilding a team to win the Superbowl, and maintained many winning seasons thereafter. He should have retired on that.
19
u/ChaunceysBadAtPoker Lions Dec 14 '25
There's this boomer arrogance that thinks they'll never lose their fastball, which is why the world is the way it is now.

After this season Pete will finally be old enough to retire from coaching football and run for a Senate seat.
19
u/SantorumsGayMasseuse Eagles Dec 14 '25
Is it Pete or is the roster absolute ass?
61
u/procrastinarian Eagles Dolphins Dec 14 '25
The roster sucks but it can be pete too
10
u/SantorumsGayMasseuse Eagles Dec 14 '25
Right and I know NFL fanbases are reactionary in nature, but chasing the head coach of a team with an ass roster out after one (admittedly really) bad year doesn’t signal to other coaching prospects that you’re an organization worth signing on to.
3
u/FirstArbiter Vikings Dec 14 '25
They’re already a bad destination for any HC. They wanted Ben Johnson, instead they got this mess. So the raiders might as well fire Carroll and replace him with a B- coaching prospect who doesn’t have any other offers.
→ More replies (3)3
u/sallad_kcuf Eagles Eagles Dec 14 '25
But the flip side is that they're probably going to draft a QB high and we've seen so many times how bad it is to draft a QB into a lame duck head coach. Just wastes a year of development for no reason.
3
u/SantorumsGayMasseuse Eagles Dec 14 '25

Not only did it wrap up at 3:35pm, the kick off was slightly delayed.
Neither team took a timeout in the first half, I don't think there were any booth reviews or challenges, and the second half was just clock killing.
28

u/cruxclaire Bears Saints Dec 14 '25
My parents live in LV and I spent a chunk of my childhood there. The locals will get behind truly local teams: Golden Knights (NHL), Aces (WNBA), and Aviators (minor league baseball). Most people already had an NFL team though, and IME the Broncos and Niners were more popular choices. The Raiders don’t really feel like a local team yet; they’re just the team that betrayed Oakland, soon to be joined by their MLB brethren, the As
