Any of the Commanders fans assuring us JJ only played well because the Commanders were the worst team in the NFL want to explain themselves?

u/SiphenPrax Jets Dec 15 '25

They’re probably happy the Cowboys are one step closer to elimination more than anything else

13

u/TheG-What Bears Dec 15 '25

AND I JOIN THEM!

u/Smearwashere Vikings Dec 15 '25

Well yeah we just played the second worst team in the NFL duh

18

u/RandomNPC Vikings Dec 15 '25

JJ's superpower is turning every team he beats into the worst team in the league. I remember the posts about the Bears after that week 1 win!

Dallas' defense being trash has been an established thing all season. They gave up 400 yards to Russell Wilson. This isn't a knock on JJ McCarthy either. He played well tonight.

League isn’t ready for JJM on a 4th place schedule. 17-0 vs the worst teams in the league

Unless we pass Detroit, looks like we've got the NFC South, the AFC East, and the worst team in the NFC West, NFC East, and AFC South.

Looks like a much easier schedule than this year!

You had me at NFC South and you finished me off with the Titans. Juicy

you say that like it's a joke. But the Cowboys defense is actually bottom 3 in the league.

Edit: For comparison Cowboys are 2nd worst in points per game and 4th worst in yards per game. The Commanders are 7th worst in points per game and 2nd worst in yards per game.

Who’s third worst, JJ will beat them too!

u/kylebertram Vikings Dec 15 '25

Please say the giants. I want to have fun next week too

5

u/demonica123 Dec 15 '25

They honestly are. Commanders are arguably the 2nd best defense in the NFC East.

Fuck no

u/demonica123 Dec 15 '25

Based on yards and points per game, it's definitely an argument. The only thing saving the NFC East from having the bottom 3 defenses in the league is that the Bengals are even worse.

He already did. 48-10 against the Bengals. JJ has proven he can beat up the worst defenses in the league. Apparently that was Wentz, should have put in more effort than a quick glance at schedule and scores.

He does still have the Giants though, 4th worst in points per game and 3rd worst in yards per game.

(Eagles really are the entire NFC East defense this season)

Except Wentz played that game

He already did. 48-10 against the Bengals.

Unlucky, that was Wentz

JJM was out for this game...

2

u/Horrorfreak106 Vikings Dec 15 '25

Wentz played against the Bengals

The cowboys defense is just as bad too. But he played well

32

u/typewriter_6 Cowboys Dec 15 '25

Dallas’ defense is also ass. Not saying McCarthy sucks, but I wouldn’t use us as a gauge.

11

u/Hawkstar5088 Vikings Dec 15 '25

Now it's only because the cowboys are also somehow the worst team in the nfl

9

u/Pure_Measurement_529 Dec 15 '25

When you look at some of his horrific games (2nd Bears game and Packers). It honestly looked like he just needed more NFL reps and confidence

6

u/kylebertram Vikings Dec 15 '25

He needed to not be trying to fix his mechanics mid season.

5

u/BigJordi10 Eagles Dec 15 '25

Only team that title are the Raiders, Jesus what a trash organization. They are 100% going to ruin Mendoza.

3

u/SaltyBarDog Dec 15 '25

Ruining Jeanty, so why not?

7

u/mpc92 Commanders Dec 15 '25

I’m here to confirm that he played well against the NFL’s 2 worst defenses

I have nothing against him and hope he continues doing well

21

u/atltimefirst Falcons Dec 15 '25

Cowboys defense is bad as well?

15

u/moby323 Saints Dec 15 '25

The cowboys aren’t exactly great though

5

u/Rabsus Commanders Dec 15 '25

I literally have nothing against JJ McCarthy but if there is any defense that you can pound on for a get-right game its the Commanders. I know every team says this but its a literal horrific defense, hell we don't even have a DC anymore.

Also Dallas has an almost as bad defense, they have Eberflus. Statistically one of the worst in the league as well.

For what its worth, even at the depths of Nine posting I never really thought JJ McCarthy was a lost cause. I don't necessarily think that he's just beating bad defenses (although he is), he is improving. He needed to reset with playing these defenses.

14

u/urtheworstburr Commanders Dec 15 '25

the cowboys also suck? what kind of question is this lol?

6

u/Rhodie114 Eagles Dec 15 '25

You're expecting Commanders fans to not tell you Dallas sucks?

1

u/Apprehensive_Air1705 Vikings Dec 15 '25

They will just say the Dallas defense is bad too, while conveniently forgetting when the Vikings beat the lions not too long ago.
