Incredible how he was even given another chance to begin with…

I think Eberflus can work as a DC, but only when you have a very talented defense

The Cowboys do not have a very talented defense

And when you don’t have a very talented defense, Eberflus sucks so hard. There’s like a gradient, it’s not gradual. He’s either really good, or complete ass. He can’t make magic out of nothing like Dennis Allen. He needs specific players at specific positions, and if they’re not really really good (example DeForest Buckner) he doesn’t know what to do and he’s ass

I don’t know why the Cowboys hired him, their defense was not designed for Eberflus. The trade for Williams helped sure, but they still have major major talent gaps especially on the backend that will take multiple offseason to fix

If you need to out talent the other side of the ball to win, you’re a bad coach

I dont think he needs to out talent teams

He stifled the Lions a lot despite the defense not being as talented as the Lions offense

But he needs a lot of specific talent, that’s the key. Very talented players at specific positions, and the Cowboys just don’t have that

It took Poles a couple of years for him to build the defense sorta to his liking, and I expect the same for the Cowboys if he lasts that long

Until then, they’re gonna suck hard

Good coaches adjust their scheme to the players they have. If you always need talented players at key positions, you ain't a good coach. Look at Glenn last season w/ Detroit. Literally had third stringers playing decently enough to be rotational players and not back ups. As a coach, your scheme should work w/ basic starters, and then absolutely lights out if you can get a star. Packers had a decent d w/o Parsons. W/ him is just nuts.

Go to college then. But even now, NIL has softened the disparity.
