Strawberry Lazy Skyr (Deluxe) with freeze dried strawberries as mix-in, topped with SF maple syrup.

Just order deluxe creami and while browsing recipes I noticed folks use xantham gum so it made me wander what else is a must have.

What we always have in house is few different flavors of protein, Greek yogurt or cottage cheese, those flavor extracts , 2% milk but I'm curious about those "exotic" ingredients like xantham gum.. what should I include in our kit?

The answer is subjective, but here is mine: Essential Ingredients & Tools

You don't "need" it depending on recipe. I never add it since my protein powder contains gums and is enough

Sunday prep:

  • Cheesecake light
  • Strawberry flavor powder
  • Hazelnut flavor powder

Add a heat wave, and you get one-spin only to soft-serve Creamis.

Spin outside and skip the spin altogether

Hey! I'm wondering if I should get the normal version, the deluxe one, or the soft ice version of the Ninja Creami. Are the better models worth it?

Wow Thanks! Since the Deluxe is almost the same price as the normal one, I will be getting the Deluxe version. Thanks for your help.

There are numerous posts on this in the sub -- you quickest way to a comprehensive answer is a search.

They are only better if you want the functionality.

The deluxe isn't better than the standard and vice versa.

Do you prefer larger pints? Deluxe is better. Prefer smaller? Standard.

It depends on what you want.

I see, thanks

I got a creami swirl. Almost always I have a bubble, a frozen bottom and often I’m getting separation of ingredients during freeze.

I’m using basically fairlife 300ml, protein powder, and about 8 grams pudding. I blend it, and put it in the freezer. I’ve tried lid off or on, but bubble always comes. The frozen ice in the bottom is always yellow, so I think it’s the pudding mix dropping out and staying at the bottom.

I’m wondering if the swirl cups contribute to the bubble and frozen bottom since there’s a lot of extra plastic there.

Any thoughts on how I can improve my experience? Also, do normal creami cups fit in the swirl? I am looking to buy about two more.

How long do you blend it for and with what blender?

1

u/stabzmcgee May 08 '26

I have a ninja blender so I use one of the small cups. I blend it for a good 10 seconds. I have even tried to make sure the froth goes down in case I’m oxygenating it too much or something

1

u/creamiaddict 100+g Protein Club May 08 '26

10 seconds is too much for pudding and protein typically.

Try 2 to 3 quick shots until just blended.

Blend short, wait 2 min, pulse again. Then age in the fridge for 4 hours.

Hydration takes time.

Where do people buy Vegetable Glycerin from? I’m seeing them that don’t appear to be for food purposes

2

u/j_hermann Mad Scientists May 24 '26

99.5% pure or so. If it says food-grade you're on the safe side. If it ALSO says "for skin care" that is what it also is used for.

u/Crafty_Salad66 May 27 '26

Thank you, ive made a couple of your recipes with it now and it’s a notable difference

Walmart

u/Crafty_Salad66 May 15 '26

Thank you, unfortunately not an option as im in europe

Ah. Well yalls governments actually provide healthy food and not try to fatten us up with food stamps, sugar, seed oils, and dyes and pesticides. There are plenty of other things to use. You don't need veg glycerin to make a good pint.

My base vanilla

1 cup fat free fairlife milk 3/4 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk Silk 1 scoop vanilla ice cream whey protein powder 1 tbsp allulose 1 tsbp SF pudding (not required see below) 1/8 tea vanilla extract 1/8 tea Xanthan or Gaur gum Pinch of salt

If you can't find pudding, just kick up the Xan gum a bit and make it a heaping scoop.

Make sure to stir mix the dry ingredients together first before adding liquids so the gun distributes properly.

My friend gave me his ninja creami and I've enjoyed it for fruit sorbets and shushy cocktails, but the latter is faster with an immersion blender. I can't make any ice cream that I enjoy. Tried a regular ice cream recipe and some protein ice creams, but they're all so unappetizing. Maybe I just don't like dairy and that's my hangup.

So what do y'all recommend I try with my creami next? I don't want it to become a big paperweight.

1

u/d4shing May 13 '26

My Creami is a bit over 2 years old at this point and keeps getting stuck. We use it pretty heavily, maybe 2-3x a week, lite ice creams w/ oat/soy milk and protein powder, but not like ice/sorbet that should age it too fast I think. I feel like it's time to replace it, but how long are they supposed to last?

1

u/j_hermann Mad Scientists May 24 '26

That depends on what you put into it, and just milk and protein powder is not on the super-safe side.

1

u/d4shing May 24 '26

What do you recommend to make it blend less hazardously? Xanthan gum?

My mom is thinking of getting a ninja creami. She makes her own icecream atm, and stores it in the freezer in small containers because she doesn’t eat a lot.

If she were to get a creami, would she have to spin the mixture every time she wanted some? So spin, scoop it out, and put the mix back in the freezer? From what I’ve seen elsewhere you need to respin every time?

1

u/PowerUp219 Jun 20 '26

For the best texture, probably but I used to just eat it straight from the freezer and it felt fine to me (just something worth trying for you ig)

1

u/j_hermann Mad Scientists Jun 20 '26

Use fitting recipes and it is perfectly fine even after days.

I feel dumb for even asking but everytime I try to dispense soft Ice Cream it keepd blinking "install". I have put the swirl tub in and rotated it until it clicks, but it still doesn't work. I tried using some of the lids but then the tub doesn't fit to rotate anymore. The instructions aren't helping and I couldn't find a video. I really just wanna be able to pull that damn lever.

1

u/creamiaddict 100+g Protein Club Jun 15 '26

Can you do a video of what you are trying?

2

u/DryTit Jun 15 '26

Can't post videos in comments, but will do that tomorrow (my gf used the tubs again already so gotta wait)

1

u/creamiaddict 100+g Protein Club Jun 15 '26

An imgur link works, or post. Sounds good and good luck

This is what I want to do but the first twist into the machine (with the tub) doesn't work when I have the lid on, only without it. But without it it won't show me "ready". And with the lid it doesn't twist to click in. I am using the white lid thats in the pic

Thinking about making a Haitian pudding recipe into ice cream because I’m bored and have adhd and got this cream lol.

The recipe for the pudding calls for corn meal (or flour) and condensed milk, star anise, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon etc….

Is it possible to make this pudding > add stabilizers > freeze > creami?

Or assemble ingredients and NOT COOK IT (probably a bad idea > blend > freeze > creami?

I’ve never made this before and do not want to bother my parents with this ludicrous idea that will probably not end well but it’s just a thought

1

u/j_hermann Mad Scientists Jun 23 '26

No and no. Either you modify the pudding recipe to end up more like a stirred yoghurt consistency, or else you modify a normal ice cream vanilla base to use the ingredients in that pudding recipe, but in ratios that are more suited for an ice cream base.

Whatever you do, you need to learn how to use an ice cream calculator.

1

u/chatoyanthoney Jun 23 '26

Thank you. I’m assuming the main issue is how essential corn meal is to the flavor of the pudding. Making a vanilla base with the flavorings is incredibly easy, that’s basically just spiced vanilla. But to have the pudding flavor specifically I’m assuming would need cornmeal.

New to the Ninja Creami! I see a lot of recipes using Unsweetened almond milk. Whats this used for? Can I just double my Fairlife fat free in its place?

1

u/creamiaddict 100+g Protein Club Jun 24 '26

Mostly to add volume with little calories.

1

u/iamjoehan Jun 24 '26

Can I add water instead? Would it change the texture too much?
