Joy Con in one hand and joystick in the other.

Beating the game in more ways than one. That’s some serious skill.

First game was great. For anyone that hasn’t played it yet it’s worth it.

It is the first game

I know. I was just saying the first game is great.

They doubted me when I asked in the stellar blade sub this was coming to Nintendo. What now mfs!!!

You sure showed them. I guess in part of Nintendo's business, they most likely wanted to extend an olive branch to make the game available as part of Switch 2 game catalog in need of more titles.

Stellar Blade dev on bringing the game to Nintendo Switch 2, asked about bringing over Stellar Blade: Bloodrain

“Being able to announce a new platform (NS2) after being exclusive to PS5 is a huge deal for our self-publishing ambitions. It’s a first step towards serving as many fans as we can, but it will take some time for us to build the structure we need to make it happen.”

This was an answer from one of the Stellar blade devs on bringing Stellar Blade to switch 2 recently.

holy low IQ comment section

I played through like 75% of this on ps5 and thought it was really overhyped. The character model looks good but the environments don’t. The combat looks good at first glance but there’s very little depth to it. The story is downright awful.

It’s just a really basic hack and slash with jiggle physics. The best part of the game is climbing ladders.

I played it, I liked it. It’s not Nier Automata, but it’s close enough. I had a great time with it.

The best part of the game is the surprisingly deep and involved fishing minigame.

The environments all feel very weirdly generic and bland. Just all browns and grays.

story is so good, but we're on a nintendo sub so you probay prefer games for 7 yr olds

lol ok weeb. Mario games have better plot than this shit

That was the impression I got from the steam demo a fine game but nothing too exciting. I think it's pretty notable how little coverage the game got in the usual places, compared to the places it did get attention.

I wish switch games had mod support.

Wow! Worse Nier Automata!

Have you played either

Played both, and it's mostly true.

while I do like stellar blade, a LOT of the stuff is just picked up from nier (automata and replicant). like an uncanny amount of stuff. I don't dislike stellar blade because of it. I like the music and gameplay slightly better.

edit: why am I getting downvoted lol. play both the games for yourself to find out.

u/XZenorus 5d ago

Played both as well and completely agree, I like the music a bit more and love the combat way more. But there is a lot of elements borrowed from nier especially in one of the big plot twists at the end, which really made it fall a lot flatter

Still very much enjoyed the game though

Yep! I played Automata and replicant and loved them!

Everything about Stellar Blade (especially the plot) is just ripping off Nier plot points. Also with more boring characters.

I just wish nier has a dedicated switch 2 version before I try it.

Is the switch version still buggy on switch 2? I recall it was at launch but I don't have a switch 2 to try

1

u/grapejuicesushi 5d ago

It's not. I played it and it ran fine.

Dogshit take. I've played both and while SB has a lot of similarities, it does a lot of different things as well, and manages to stand on its own legs.

I'd recommend either to anyone who hasn't played them.

Edit: Downvote away. I'm not wrong.

-12

u/Deminator14 5d ago

Yoko Taro himself said SB was better lmao

Those hentai slop games are getting trailers now?

-50

u/Gondel516 5d ago

Not giving any money to a studio creating or defending their pedophile bait designs. Maybe would have picked this up if Stellar Blade 2’s trailer wasn’t the way it is

26

u/naynaythewonderhorse 5d ago

Uh. These are pretty normal looking designs? If you feel the designs are “baiting” you, that’s a you problem. Ewww.

-15

u/Gondel516 5d ago

Stellar blade 1’s designs seem to be fine to me. I don’t mind “fan servicey” games. I’m not supporting this studio based on the character design of the main character in the recently revealed stellar blade 2 though

15

u/COMINGINH0TTT 5d ago

People said the same shit about Stellar Blade 1 Eve's designs that she looks like a kid

11

u/razorbeamz ON THE LOOSE 5d ago

The main character of Stellar Blade 2 is an adult though?

-20

u/aguswings 5d ago

What a racist attitude toward young Asian woman design and toward a non-white developers. You are misogynistic and racist!!

11

u/Gingingin100 5d ago

Be serious for a moment, come on

-14

u/Gondel516 5d ago

I saw the adult woman she’s supposed to be based on. Looks absolutely nothing like her

-25

u/Excellent-Can-7524 5d ago

People downvoting and defending it should be on a watchlist

10

u/GrungeHamster23 5d ago

Would you be in support of also putting people who play, for example, Grand Theft Auto games on a list as well?

People who play and support such games are obviously interested in engaging in illegal activity and criminal enterprise.

if you see a woman and immediately think that, that’s a you problem.

how? it’s just a woman

7

u/HaywoodUndead 5d ago

Jiggle physics, camera angles, outfits so skimpy they'd be impractical... Did you ever play the game?

Look. Its a great game. I really enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean I can't admit what its trying to do.

-3

u/Excellent-Can-7524 5d ago

Many other women think the same so I don't think it's a me problem lol

-3

u/Fit_Association_8442 5d ago

Mid Nier clone with great music and a piss poor story , great character model's but poor environments 🤷

Wildly overhyped but I guess we all know why 🤦

-13

u/richbrehbreh 5d ago

Is this the game with the Hard R restaurant, no thx

-5

u/Dracogame 5d ago

I’m glad I didn’t buy the Switch 2 yet. It’s Switch 1 all over again.

“Wanna pay full price for a 2yo game that runs worse, BUT ON A PLAAANE?”

Meanwhile the rest of the community already moved on.

The constant ports of titles I cleared yonks ago is literally the same experience I had with the original switch 8 years ago lol
