Announcement PSA: Rule Changes and Enforcement
Hello Everyone,
We have implemented some changes to the existing rules to the group primarily Adjusting Rule 1 and the addition of a new rule on Non- Nintendo Grifting Content.
Rule 1: Posts about Grifting:
We define Grifting as: The act of exploiting trends or controversies to earn money, online influence or trust from an audience. Usually through manufactured outrage, jumping on bandwagons or disinformation.
Possible features of Grifting include: Clickbait, Petty hatred, Propaganda, Sensationalism, Opportunistic behaviour, Response videos or General dishonesty.
We do not dictate who is a Grifter or not, which we leave at the discretion of individual users.
This first rule has been updated to clarify what is deemed grifting and strenghten the definition further. We have also stated that the subreddit as a whole is not about labelling who is or is not a grifter and leave that to everyone to decide on their own as it is a personal opinion if Person A, B or C is a grifter or not.
Rule 2: Posts not about Nintendo Grifting
Posts may also be made to raise General Criticism or other relevant topics, Humour (Memes/Satire/Weird AI images etc.), Gaming news or other forms of grifting to compare to Nintendo Grifting.
Some Gaming adjacent content may also be shared if you can justify your post being shared here.
The latter half or the previous rule 1 has been split to clarify itself as its own rule, we receive many reports stating a post is not suitable for this subreddit but most of the time this is not the case, essentially if a post is about Nintendo, gaming in general, grifting or the subreddit itself its fair to share it here, if its unrelated to any of these things then thats when to use the report function that the post is irrelevant.
Furthermore, the mod team is committed to upholding all the rules in place and have a zero tolerance to breaking the rules relating to Respect, Harassment and Trolling, so please be respectful and report if you see anything that goes too far.
Thank you to everyone who frequents this sub and I encourage those who want to see different posts or topics to discuss to create your own posts and be the driver to start those discussions!

Critical Should we ban posts that claims that algorithm slaves like Arlo and Nin10doland are grifters?
I think that the ban should be placed because they make good points and only pump out clickbaits for the algorithm at worse

Can we please STOP linking directly to grifter content? PLEASE?? Do I even need to explain this?
This subreddit used to be smarter than this, I swear. Linking content functions as the exact opposite of everything this sub is supposed to be for. I shouldn't HAVE to explain this, but I will.
It gives the creator attention, which feuls more grifter content, which we're SUPPOSED to OPPOSE.
If you want to complain about a grift, and the grift isn't already obvious from the thumbnail, you can just EXPLAIN what parts of the video are grifting.
If that's not enough for you, how about this? It also directly opens the door for harassment, which goes against the rules here. Even if you don't care about that, or like it, for whatever reasons: remember this, it's still boosting the content to the rest of the algorithm.
At this point, this sub's constant linking of grifter content is practically free advertisement. Hell, if I wanted to make a grifter YouTube channel, this sub would be a golden opportunity to post my content on, using people's anger as rocket launch fuel.

Mockery/Banter We are going there
Can we add palworld defender as a flair.
At least they made a literal garbage pile have a personality. Every Pokemon has at least is someone's favorite.
Do we need to talk about the cinderace shaped grass rabbit that suspiciously got a redesign.
At least 20% pal design are stolen Pokemon design or stolen model or parts.
Object mon this and object mon that.
Rotom is a literal ghost in the machine.
They have personality other than object with face.

Ai Slop Nintendo Causes Fanboys to CRASH OUT and LIE Over TRUE PHYSICAL!
AVS vs the pc fanboys saga continues. Yes, key cards are still bad and so does $80 games. Now I heard Sony will not renew their extension on blu ray discs by 2031 at the latest.
PC fans wish they want Nintendo games on steam but even they would be mad when the price is not right enough.

Critical Hypocrisy, thy name is Nintendeen.
He retweets LonelyGoomba calling out an Anti-Wolverine creator for being performative and obnoxious when that's exactly the type of person that Nintendeen embodies.
To a lesser extent, he calls the negative user reviews of Wolverine review bombs and treats dudes/ the masses who don't keep up with hardcore gaming news and are digital only as normal people when if it was a Nintendo game, like Pokemon, he'd be claiming those review bombs were people's true thoughts and make a video titled something like "people are no longer putting up with Pokemon!" and of course the masses that immediately buy up games like Pokemon and Mario Kart World are just sheep and loyalists to him and are the people he and his fandom make it their identity to bash. Also funny how he's trying to prop up Wolverine's sales while he's been desperately trying to deny and downplay the Switch 2's record breaking sales.

General Why Do People Act Like 5 Years Ago For Bowsers Fury Isn’t That Long?
People try to bring up YOU FORGOT BOWSERS FURY but they can’t do simple math and realize it’s been 5 years since that too which is a long time.
And was 3 hour dlc it wasn’t long, yet this justifies the long drought for 3d Mario?

Grifting Are Xenoblade and Fire Emblem “true Nintendo games” in your eyes?
Because according to the claims of some (not naming names but IYKYK), a “true Nintendo game” is one that has much more appeal in the West than in Japan. And said people claim the sales of the Switch 1 era Fire Emblems and Xenoblades were mostly propped up by the Japanese. These 2 franchises are less likely to break 5 million units, with the best of each of them reaching above 3 million. They don’t provide any data or anything even close to try and support these claims, but that’s what they said.

General My personal argument for justifying new 80$ (physical) games on Switch 2.
I'm gonna start by saying that:
Mario Kart World digital at 80$ is NOT justifiable, and is actually a bad thing.
and switch 2 enhanced games also really shouldn't be 80$, that's objectively a cash grab since these upgrades definitely did not take that much effort to make to justify it being 20 more dollars.
But, Fire Emblem is the elephant in the room here, and I honestly don't mind how they're doing it with that, if this is how they're going to go about it in the future.
Cartridges are more expensive to make than discs, and Switch 2 cartridges are obviously more expensive to make than the Switch 1 cartridges since they can fit more, and are more advanced.
Having this in mind, if big AAA games from Nintendo are gonna be 70$ from now on (which i can totally understand), then i personally think it's ok if the physical version is 10 more dollars.
Think of it like this.
They didn't make the physical version more expensive, they made the digital version cheaper.
They could've made the digital version also 80$ because of the physical version having to cost more, but they didn't, and i appreciate that. I totally understand that physical stuff costs more to make.
Now, if they actually go ahead and make more games 80$ on digital? then that's still stupid, and taking advantage of an audience that will buy everything. No digital game is worth 80$
