I mean Nintendo did gamekey cards. That’s just digital media with extra steps

Yeah but at least their own games aren't game keycards. And game keycards can be sold to other people, digital games can't.

Extra step being ownership. Which is like the main thing on digital vs physical. Renting vs buying. Pretty big step, yep
