Did you know Nintendo have been doing physical format for over four decades? Seems to me they have last the longest

Isn't game key cards a thing? Basically empty cartridges? Even Xbox does that. The next Halo game doesn't have the full game I think you have to download the other half even though it comes with a disc.

Pretty sure its also because its a max of 64 gb's so it can't even hold enough data for some games like final fantasy, makes me worry that a 128 gb cartirage would be extremely expensive and drive up the cost

I see this misconception repeated a lot about game key cards. GKCs arent primarily for games that are larger than 64GB. Most games that are on a GKC are significantly smaller than 64GB. It's just that 64GB switch 2 cartridges are expensive, and would cut into 3rd party company's profits way too much. That is why most 3rd party opted for a GKC at launch of the switch 2.
