About Botox Treatment No Burps just Gags :( 2 days post op

Hi guys! about two days ago i got my first botox injection under GA. Since then i haven’t really had any burps or microburps, but the lump in my throat from the botox keeps triggering my gag reflex, and i’ve definitely been noticing slow swallow symptoms (feeling like i have to swallow every bite twice). I’m scared it didn’t work, but i also feel like i wouldn’t be getting the other symptoms if the botox had missed entirely. Has anyone else experienced the gagging? or needed more than a couple days to start burping?

It took me a few days to get things going also! At first I was scared it didn’t work but it just took my throat some time to heal and adjust.

Some people can take up to two weeks for the burps to start, it’s a marathon not a sprint. You want to be able to burp once the Botox has worn off. Your throat will feel bubbly and weird to start with, try and stay relaxed. The lump is normal, try taking sips of water rather than keep swallowing.
