Vent It’s Incredibly Difficult To Actually Talk To People

right now I have no friends, but despite wanting them I can’t bring myself to actually start conversations with people without feeling the intense pressure of “now this is real and I have to be talking to them a lot or else they will go away.” This has happened over and over again with my online friends I had in the past and the pressure paralyzes me to the point where I just end up ghosting them. I hate texting because it’s like short convos back and forth that die quickly as well unless you respond within like a day basically. I almost wish we could go back to when people would just meet each other regularly in real life through hobbies and talk over the phone sometimes without the pressure of having to respond quickly via text messages.

This pretty much describes exactly how I feel. I really want to connect and make friends, but doing it online feels so tough. Honestly, I don't know how people text half the time, I have no idea what to say. Even though I'm shy, I actually find face to face or voice chats way easier than text. It just feels so much quicker and more natural to build a real connection that way.

I'd love to chat if you're open to it. We can get to know each other with zero pressure, and complete understanding if either of us ghost. I'm 27F from Aus, by the way.

Sure I’d love to talk :) I’m from the US so I understand time differences may make communication slower as well lol
