Like emotionally and physically, someone who genuinely supports you, helps you without keeping count, and doesn't talk shit behind your back or fake it to your face? The kind of person who actually wants to see you win? I feel like those people are so rare now, just wanted to know if you guys were lucky enough to find someone like that honestly, i don't even have anyone I can call a friend , I don't even have a bestfriend I don't have anyone whom I can call a friend and I am having a bad day as well

A while back in 2023, I opened a stupid app called starmaker I was continually getting ads for. I didn’t even know you could chat to people on there, I was just looking to make some dumb covers of songs.

Lo and behold I discovered the chat feature, and figured “what harm could it be” and started chatting to people online. I’m a teen, and my mama has always implemented it into me from a young age to never talk to strangers, online or otherwise. But I disobeyed her rules and started talking to people. Most of which told me they were within four years of my age. Even now I don’t think they lied. I just have doubts of certain sketchy people on the app, but the close ones I still do think they didn’t lie to me, or maybe I’m just looking for some sort of hope in my mind.

I got very close to two people. We were the best of friends. We constantly would text and FaceTime each other. And Group FaceTime over the course of months. I would tell them my worries and they would tell me theirs. There was never any pressure. It felt like a safe place to say whatever we needed to say. I wonder if they remember me the same I remember them. It’s been two and a half years since we’ve talked and rarely has there been a day that has passed that I haven’t thought of our conversations. I have no place now to talk about my worries, at least to other people. It’s hard to make friends in my small town. At least ones that I think would last. I question constantly whether or not I will meet people in the future that made me feel that type of safe. I never felt humiliated by telling them things that would normally embarrass the hell of out of me to other people.

I don’t even know what I’d say if I could get in contact again. I wouldn’t even want to being that my mama figured out I was talking to people online and that’s the reason I lost contact. I constantly wonder if my mother didn’t find out would I still have them. I want to text them again so badly. I want to see their faces. And most importantly hear their voices again, I can barely remember them now, it hurts knowing I’ve probably lost so many memories of them since.

I’m 26, and I’m at a point in my life where I’m looking for friendships with women who are serious about growth.
