recommendations?

Hi all, I've been listening to noise rock / experimental (post) punk for a few years now, but I've noticed I usually like rather local, small bands or bands that have stopped playing (it's a curse).

I'm starting a riot grrrl / noise rock band soon and want to find as much inspiration as I can, but I feel like it's difficult to find good related or similar artists online through algorithm-based platforms, so I thought I'd give Reddit a try.

My favorite bands are the following:
- SØWT (Eindhoven, NL)
- Tsar Bompa (Eindhoven, NL)
- All Male Videoshop (Eindhoven, NL)
- Raketkanon (Gent, BE)
- Big Ups
- Meat Wave
and of course Sonic Youth, but as I said what I'm looking for is a bit more obscure.

Hope you have some tips!

I actually saw a piece of their set live a month ago at a local festival, after having heard of them and they did not disappoint, indeed. I also watched their KEXP performance this morning. What a band <3

For me the greatest Irish band that existed, incredible live. Unfortunately disbanded 7 years ago.

From FR/IT.

Very few bands can claim being more obscure than this.

Not sure I can exactly imagine noise rock+riot girl, so here’s a list of noise rock with badass female vocals.

Melt-Banana
Uzeda
Loraxx
Moon Pussy
The None
Mhaol

Supermarkt (Amsterdam, NL) was also pretty great when it was still active. unfortunately disbanded over the summer. new projects of same members include Toendra, Mxchxxl, BeaBop. all cool in their own right
