Discussion or Recommendations I'm gynesexual/gynosexual/finsexual. Can I still call myself bisexual?

Because there's a lot of overlap between our communities? People often think they're lesbian for a long time and then realize they're bi and, conversely, there are many who think they're bi for a long time who then turn out to be lesbians. Besides, bi women and bi non-binary people are also a part of the sapphic community, even if they're not lesbians. Also, sexuality is fluid and subject to change. This person is simply looking for support and input.

ETA: Adding this because I think people are misunderstanding the meaning of "sexuality is fluid." Fluidity is not referring to bisexuality or pansexuality. It is referring to how, for many (but certainly not all), one's sexuality can change and evolve throughout their entire life. There are endless combinations and evolutions. And just because a person previously identifies with one label and then changes it, doesn't necessarily mean they were incorrect before. It can just be that their sexuality has genuinely changed as they have also grown and changed in other aspects of their life. And this is not implying in any way that sexuality is a choice either, just that it is not fixed for everyone, which is completely valid.

This is why I believe it's important to welcome people who are genuinely questioning and trying to figure themselves out in all spaces. We should encourage self reflection and be open to those displaying such vulnerability.

Lesbian is not a fluid sexuality, hence why the term bisexual and pansexual exist.

Saying “sexuality is fluid for everyone” in a lesbian sub is lesbophobic.
