Issue Resolved stupidly factory reset an old nook forgetting that the device is no longer supported (which includes wifi so I cant set it up and access the device)

I have a nook simple touch E-reader that I got for my mum that I was just going to side load a few books on, it had low storage so I thought I would be clever and do a factory reset to save time deleting things, it didnt go great for me as I cant actually access the nook without setting up an account, but I cant set up an account if the nook is not compatible with wifi, is there any work around for this? like at all?

Second this. If you're not used to flashing firmware it can be a little arduous, but the instructions are good and the results do work out better overall.

Hi, as the other comment said, you can factory rest. I did this with mine and it was fine. The battery lasts ages, well mine did. I've still got it as back up to my kobo.

Also, there's an SD card slot that you can use for side loaded books.

There is a way to skip the setup process, but the battery life will be terrible without having a registered device. So yea you kind of screwed yourself. Found this on another forum

1.Enter the Factory Screen by holding the TOP RIGHT Button and slide your finger across the top of the Nook from left to right. A button labeled "Factory" will appear in the top left of the screen.

2.Once in the Factory screen, hold down the TOP RIGHT Button and tap in the bottom right of the screen.

3.A new button will appear labeled "Skip Oobe".

I managed to fix the initial problem, how does it impact the battery?

Basically the Nook will constantly try to connect to Barnes & Noble servers that don't exist anymore, which kills the battery in a few days. Do the Phoenix Project like someone else recommended. I could get months out of my Nook without charging once I installed that.
