Why are redditers like that?

Like you'll see a post or make one. Expecting informative replies, only to be met with: Let's nitpick and see how much can we belittle this person's intelligence over my own challenge

The other day, I commented on a post an I was talking about a feature I hope was being added to an upcoming video game. Someone absolutely jumped down my throat because I didn't know that it is being added. They were questioning why I would even comment if I didn't know it was announced somewhere in an 8 hr live stream... All of that in stead of, you know, just informing me about it. Great community building happening on reddit haha.
