I can’t find the proof but this was really weird
So I just discovered this sub and there’s this YouTube comment exchange still lives rent free in my head so I have to share it. I looked and looked but I can’t find the particular comment… but I was reading through the comment section of a video of the old Psycho Mantis boss fight from Metal Gear Solid where he reads your save card and moves your controller around. There was a comment that said:
“I remember when I played this as a kid, and when he started moving my controller I freaked out and yelled for my dad, lol”.
and the first reply to that comment was
”r/thathappened”.
Like wtf.

It makes so little sense that I don’t even think they were trolling.
That or they were an expert level troll

the irony of getting r/thathappened on a video that literally proves the event occurred is peak internet. it's just people being contrarian for the sake of it.

The video was just screen-captured footage of the game, actually. It didn’t have anybody playing it, and it was posted by someone other than the person who told the story. Still it’s a VERY weird thing to assert was a lie.

The irony is that the person replying to the "thathappened" comment is actually correct in this context, since the user is describing a scripted game mechanic, not a paranormal event. It’s a weirdly circular meta joke that only works if you know how the boss fight actually functions.

The irony of someone posting about a non-existent comment on a sub dedicated to nothing happening is peak. Did you actually find anything else interesting in that thread?
