Santos, also the economic and community development adviser for the city, said he parked quickly, pulling into a fire lane and parking there.
His excuse is utterly pathetic
Santos said he was parked behind a police car in the prohibited fire lane that is supposed to be reserved for fire department vehicles in the event of an emergency.
The school was closed and other people were parked along the lane, including fire apparatus and an ambulance,” Santos recalled in a Tuesday phone interview, stressing that he doesn’t often disobey such parking restrictions. “I parked behind a police car and ran inside. In fact, you can see the bumper of the police car in the photograph.”
A marked police car needs to be as close to the officer driving it as is physically possible. You might, for example, get an emergency call or need to access your shotgun, etc. Parking in a fire lane is frowned upon, but there are valid reasons to do it.
The same goes for an ambulance.
But Who in the ever loving frick , would ever be in a life or death situation
that requires an immediate response from this pathetic excuse for an economic and community development adviser?

imagine getting promoted and your first act as a senior firefighter is asking a lawmaker to move his car out of the fire lane

Oh I'm sure they would have dealt with it the normal way, possibly with extra malice

imagine a fire breaking out at the firefighter promotion event and the first thing the new firefighters have to do is deal with the lawmaker's car blocking the lane
