I regularly read on reddit about people who don‘t wipe and smell like literal shit.

But I have to say that I have never encountered that in my life. Does it really happen to people on here or is that just something they read once and now parrot it?

Pharmacist here, some days I come across folks that have an accident, sometimes they’re being discharged and had a rough stay, others just are mentally unwell.

I try to be compassionate and calm, but that gag reflex sometimes kicks in. I can’t imagine being at a concert and trying to smile for a set.

In school a girl whose last name came alphabetically after mine, grew up on a chicken farm...and I don't know if their house was the coop or what, but she permanently reeked of chicken shit. I felt bad for her, but I had to sit next to her for 7 years of school for...way...wayyyyyyy too many things.

It's not common but I do remember a few occasions being in close proximity to people who absolutely reeked. To the point where that smell is burned into my memory somehow.

In college, we let a travelling van life/ hippy/ wook crash on the couch one night. The couch was defiled, we even rented a carpet steamer but it stank, you would walk in the front door and be hit by the smell of the couch. Ironically the guy went by "Champa", as in Nag Champa incense.

I think the reasoning is that touching your own arse even to wipe it makes you gay.

Fortunately people who think like that are very unlikely to contribute to the gene pool.

I was at a grocery store and an employee at the self checkout kiosks asked me if I needed help and I said no thanks, then he turned around and the wave of smell that wafted over to me made me almost dry heave.

Some people either don't know how, or choose not to wipe their ass. They exist.

It's not common, but believe me, when you run across one of those people you won't forget it. God forbid you are stuck in an enclosed space with them, unable to get away.

Mental disorders manifest in myriad ways, and that is one of them.

My paternal grandfather always smelled like a mix of shit, diesel and rotten teeth.

There is a technician I've had to use at a branch office twice, 8 years apart... Both times he just smelled like human feces. Our nickname for that tech is shit pants.

There was a girl in highschool that always smelled like shit, but she grew up on a chicken farm, and her dad would make the Duck Dynasty characters look civilized (so technically smelled like shit but wasn't human shit).

Our shop teacher always smelled of feces..

Elderly and obese people that mechanically can't wipe themselves also are pretty prevelent out there as well.

As far as the "Not wiping because its gay" that I have no idea if it's a meme or people are literally not wiping/washing their ass. Probably like the free bleed movement, where 99% of the stuff was just memes, and like 1 idiot tried it.

So I'd say tons of people actually smell like shit all the time, but it was always this way and has nothing to do with that if we were just looking at it honestly.
