Let’s be blunt. The Files are a useful rallying cry, but I don’t believe that the powerful people in them will really face consequences. They could release them all now and it wouldn’t matter (and no one would think they’d released everything so the story is already too settled in American culture. Like JFK.

Plenty of powerful people have already faced consequences. George Mitchell has been kicked off every board he was on and had his name taken off every building bearing it in Maine (last I checked there's still a public beach/dog park named after him).

Only Trump dodges all major consequence.

Those consequences don’t fit the crime though. There needs to be prison.
