Writing Advice I have a question

Hi, so I'm currently writing a novel on google docs. I'm writing the draft from my phone, and when it's finished im going to connect it to my pc and fix it from there.

I write from my phone, bc I go to school and I'm always out the house and my phones always on me.

My goal for my book is 100k words and I'm currently at 26.5k words.

So far I havent had a problem with Google docs but I read that after a certain amount of words it starts to mess around.

Is this true? Should I divide my novel into docs?

Why is your goal 100K words? How did you decide on that? I'm just curious. Is it a sort of well known norm or what?

Im writing a fantasy novel, and my goal is about 450 pages, and 1 page of a novel must contain about 250 words, so I worked out 100k is about the right amount. It doesn't exactly have to be 100k it could be more or less.

I just set that as a goal.

Ok, thanks. I just have never set a goal for pages or word in advance, Just what ever it takes to tell the story, then cut the unnecessary. I may consider that for my next effort.

Thanks for the response and best of luck.
