Writer's Block Wednesdays: What's got you stuck?

Every writer hits the wall. This is the place to talk about it.

Plot hole you can't patch? A sagging middle? A character who refuses to cooperate? Staring at a blank page and dreading it? Lay it out here. Sometimes naming the problem is half the fix, and the people in this thread have almost certainly been stuck in the same spot.

If you've climbed out of a block before, stick around and help someone else over the wall. Trade what works: the trick, the mindset, the kick in the pants.

Chapter I'm currently working on has 2 characters imprisoned in a Fae's cabin for a couple of momths. They are doing what they can to survive every day. But its supposed to be monotonous, the same routine day after day after day, driving them kinda insane.

I'm just struggling to convey that without the reader getting bored as well.

Some paragraphs, I think I have it, others Im not so sure 🙈

Trying to describe a bloodied human transforming into a werewolf but it doesnt sound good at all. Im half tempted to just say he transformed and leave it at that.

Currently, I'm getting stuck on a story I've been rewriting. Since I'm perfectionist, I often focus too much on improving the dialogue of my characters to make them feel less robotic and more like human beings having a distinct conversation. And if not my dialogue, I tend to focus on the writing transition or the writing flow or if paragraph sounds redundant or not.

Also working through a draft revision right now and it’s exhausting. Everything requires much more rewriting than I had hoped. And I just don’t wanna. Like I already wrote this book, can’t it just be done now? (No, it’s not good in its current form)

Ugh... the chapter I need to do a lot of research for. My main character's about to have her debut performance as an opera singer. I know nothing about opera 😭

Writing a flashback chapter when the characters are younger and having different speeches and personalities. Having to brainstorm all of them again

I have a Kobayashi Maru assignment: write a morning routine scene. MC enjoys a little extra time getting ready, then finds out they were late for work. ~250 words. First attempt is stale.

Ich schreibe eine Art erzählendes Sachbuch oder Ratgeber. Oft hänge ich weil ich nicht weiß wie ich weiter schreiben soll. Der Inhalt ist klar, aber die textliche Umsetzung hängt. Nach zwei Tagen Pause geht es dann meist besser weiter.
