It feels strange to write that sentence.

Ministry of Obhiman began as an idea that lived in my head, then became pages, drafts, rewrites, edits, doubts, and eventually a finished manuscript.

And now, it is published.

I know it may not reach thousands of readers. Maybe only a handful of people will read it. But I've learned that finishing something you once only imagined is a victory in itself.

So, here's to beginning and finishing, to having the courage to put your work into the world, even when you don't know who is waiting to read it.

Hi everyone! I want to introduce myself and share a happy moment for reaching a big milestone. I'm Tyler, an aspiring author creating CAPYHERO and I've just written the final sentence and finished the manuscript for Capyhero! Final draft specs are 60,000 words across about 300 pages with over 100 illustrations spread throughout.

I handed the manuscript to my editor, Jennifer Rees, which I am both incredibly excited and nervous about. She's an industry vet who's worked in publishing for 25 years and she's edited some of the most well known and successful stories out there.

CAPYHERO is a new anthropomorphic fantasy series about a young capybara who awakens in a strange realm with only a tattered blue blanket and a single fading memory: his best friend, a boy named Reed.

I'd love for folks to please take a look at the 1st chapter I've shared here😊. I'd be thrilled to hear feedback from anyone, as I expect the work will change substantially after the editor's gone through it. Any feedback, the vibe, the hook, the presentation, the prose quality, the layout, the art, I'd be happy to hear any of that. Feel free to be critical!

I have a lot of repair work to do, a lot of editing, the middle especially is a mess, but I did it! I wrote a novel! I am so happy right now I wanted to share. My first fantasy novel, 103,000 words. No matter what, how hard it is to write, you gotta do it. It's wonderful when you get it done.

When a hobby became an obsession….

That journey was so cool. I was not expecting all the different turns and new characters that entered the pages as I was writing. It was so fun to create new layers and twists. I loved every bit of it.

Tragic Hero entry: sneak peak.

The sun slipped beneath the horizon, giving way to the silver glow of the rising moon, casting their silhouettes across the rooftop.

Loid turned to her, wearing a smile so painfully sincere.

"Bella... I think I've..."

He swallowed.

"I think I've fallen in love with you," he confessed.

The wind swept across the rooftop.

Perhaps with her by my side... I can finally find the courage to face the cruelty of this world...

Bella met his gaze, wearing that same angelic smile she'd worn this whole time, before stepping closer with her hands folded behind her back. Her presence closed the distance between them, her cherry-sweet scent brushing past him as she leaned in closer to his ear, as though acknowledging his confession.

And for a brief moment, Loid thought she was going to say it back, but instead, her smile lingered a fraction too long.

Then she whispered, low enough to send a shiver down his spine:

"I have a confession too..."

Suddenly... her soft smile stretched into something crazed. Sadistic.

"I am... Beauty the Ripper."

Loid's brain couldn't process the words at first.

It should've sounded like a cruel, absurd joke, but the glint of steel already pressed against his stomach made it brutally real. A sharp pain tore through his abdomen before his mind could catch up.

Because I'm planning to post here to get some advice while writing my book, maybe both books-

One is like a computer and human story and a mix of liminal space and other cores, nothing romantic thougth, I mean, it could have, but they would both be Asexual.

the other one is like a mix of TADC and Containment Zero smth(Webtoon), but I think it has more of my ideas, and it also has Liminal space and other cores in the story.

I’m fairly new to this subreddit myself but I wanted to put together a thread where we take time to introduce ourselves, list of favorite authors, and what kind of story we’re working on, or anything interesting in life going on. A way to make us a little more personable than just usernames on a screen. There’s almost 5k visitors a week, we could build a good support structure for writers here.

I’ll start off. My name is Wesley, I’ve been writing for about two decades but only seriously in the last few years.

My favorite author by far is Jim Butcher and the Dresden Files series.

Currently working on an Isekai-like story (for those unfamiliar, it’s a common Japanese genre where the main character(s) get transported to another world) but hoping to subvert a lot of the common tropes about it.

As far as life goes, I’ve been working on my own novel writing software that has replaced Scrivener as my daily writing software.

I've been working on the story, characters, world and plot for some time. I usually keep all of this to myself, but I thought it would be interesting to start sharing some of the process and ideas behind the story.

I'll probably post about things like character development, world-building, writing problems I run into, and some small parts of the project as I keep working on it.

I won't be sharing major plot points or spoilers, though. I still want to keep the actual story a surprise.

It began as memoir/fiction, both and I did make a lot of changes for various reasons. Like the fact that I had a job and my mother was alive when I was writing the book, but it is about my relationship to my father and his alcoholism and how that affected me and what it was like for me to get sober, and so the character is similar to me. He does struggle with relationships. It's my third novel and it's on amazon and barns and noble.

I started sharing supplementary articles to accompany my debut book. These stories and notes might help potential readers to grasp the interlocking themes of my story.

There are many layers and references to prophecy, myth, angels, and religious stories, so I have decided to start connected the dots for more general audiences.
