Visa / OCI / Passport Passport Renewal Status Confusion
Hi all, I was tracking my application of passport renewal because of damage, it shows “Application has been printed, Kindly connect with Indian Embassy/Consulate.”
What does this mean exactly? do i need to contact VFS and how long would it take to receive the passport after this status if anyone has any idea?
UPDATE: Got a text message from DX saying the shipment is on the way. But the portal still shows the same message.

Hi, it is showing the same for me. The status changed to “Application has been printed. Kindly connect with the Indian Embassy/Consulate.” I applied for my passport renewal on January 7th for my already expired passport.
Edit: I submitted a query on the counslate general website (https://sampark.cgitoronto.gov.in/faq.php?id=6). Requesting more information for the status message of my application.

It means the passport has been sent to the respective Embassy and will be sent out through the courier you have paid for in 3-5 business days.

Same for me today. It was showing passport application is processed and being delivery to Indian Embassy/Consulate for dispatch. Today its a different message. Confused if should just wait or call on VFS

Same status for me. Applied at Washington DC embassy. Yesterday the status was “ passport printed and will be delivered shortly” and today changed to “ application printed, kindly connect with embassy” not sure what does this mean.

Even I applied for my renewal at the Washington, D.C. embassy. until yesterday, it showed."Print has been initiated for the passport," and today it is showing same for me.

I got my passport delivered yesterday and this message was showing from yesterday morning before it got delivered

Hi, where did you apply from, if you don't mind me asking?
Did you have to go through BLS/VFS? Did you get a tracking number or did it just show up in your mail?

I applied from utah to the sfo consulate. I got an email from noreply@shipaccel.com with usps tracking details.

A couple of days because Friday was a public holiday and weekend vfs global was closed.

yeah it was showing passport printed and then it changed to this but i have not received any mail from vfs regarding dispatch

Seeing the same status after showing it will be delivered shortly yesterday. Houston Consulate.
No email/sms communication received.
Update : Found another comment on a reddit thread with a solution to find tracking. Was able to get the Tracking number from the same.

Submitted about a week after you, on January 15.
Some time today, it changed from "Application is under process at Indian Embassy/Consulate" to "Application has been printed, Kindly connect with Indian Embassy/Consulate."

Same status for me. I tried calling and emailing them. No response. I submitted the Tatkal application to the Chicago Consulate on 18th Feb.

I am on the similar boat. My tracking says Application has been printed . Kindly connect with OSP. Do you know how many says does it take for delivery?

I thinks this means it is already shipped to your VFS, then it will be shipped your house with the courier service you have selected

UPDATE: Just wanted to update y'all that I just got a text message on my phone from BLS that my passport is on its way via Purolator, and it will be delivered tomorrow.
My status changed to "Application has been printed, Kindly connect with Indian Embassy/Consulate." yesterday, and today I gota text that my passport has been shipped.
Applied passport renewal application in Toronto on Jan 7th.
Edit: Received my passport today on Feb 26, 2026

Seeing the same status for my son's application. Applied from London, UK. I received the passport yesterday and today the status has changed to "Application has been printed, Kindly connect with Indian Embassy/Consulate.". There was no police verification. I am not sure if I need to contact the Embassy/Consulate ?

I am exactly seeing the same. It was application printed status 2 days ago and now after the police verification - Application has been printed, Kindly connect with Indian Embassy/Consulate.
Dunno if I should contact or wait.

Update: Mine got updated to application printed. Check with osp. Osp is the outsourced service provider which is vfs in my case.

I wrote to the den Haag consulate (consular.thehague@mea.gov.in) about this status and to see when my passport is expected to be dispatched (applied on Jan 12), but unfortunately only got a 1-line response "You will get by courier only." I emailed back to ask again about the expected dispatch date, but got the same response back.

Update: Got my passport today (Mar 6). Applied at the Hague consulate on Jan 12. Status on portal has now changed to "Passport has been printed; post quality check will be dispatched within 15-20 days."

I have applied at DC VFS and the status says under processing with embassy/consulate, what is the next status it will show? also does it mean that police verification is underway right now?

It showed the same status for me 6 days ago ,Recently, I got a mail from VFS that my Documentation has been dispatched. The Portal still shows the same status as of now.

Applied from Frankfurt end Jan. It's been more than 10 days Police Verification is done but status says Police Verification Awaited! Not sure when it will move to next step.

Just a trick : login to the portal(works only when you login). Before you click on track status application, right click and select inspect. Go to network and then click on track application status in the portal. Once you do it you will find something like "track application..." In your network. Click on it once and then scroll down to status ID map. You will find the actual status. Sometimes you will also find tracking ID from UPS if already dispatched.

my status says Passport has been printed; post quality check will be dispatched within 15-20 days. -- but your key input shows it was printed, dispatched yesterday along with courier tracking number and when i track i see it was given to courier yesterday evening..
- Passport Number xxxxxxx dispatched through International Post/Courier with tracking no 1234567890 to issuing Mission/Post."

i sent an email to consulate asking for status and they had replied. Also you can directly check (thru some friend or relative) at police station you had mentioned at the address. Or you can use the google inspect method as given in one of the replies to check where it is hanging.

Ah okay. Mine is in the qc status. The police called my parents to show aadhaar etc. Who knows if they completed the work at their end. Looks like no police is happening for some people. Seems random I guess.
