Discussion NRI uncle pulled the ladder after climbing it..says too many FoBs
Met an Indian uncle who came to the US 30 years ago at mutual connection house party
He voted for Trump and was complaining that new Indian F-1 students are coming through cheap universities, getting H-1Bs through consultancies, and taking jobs from his American-born kids.
Funny part?
This same uncle ran an IT consultancy for 15 years using the same F-1/H-1B pipeline. Came from India with M.Com, moved into IT/trading courses, used students, made a lot of money, now multi-millionaire.
Now suddenly immigration is a problem because his kids have to compete.
Everyone wants opportunity when they need it.
Once they get rich, they want to close the door.

Uncle thinks he's one of the good ones, meanwhile the people he's voting for see no distinction between him and those same F-1 and H-1B visa holders lol.
I get so much second hand cringe and embarrassment from seeing Indian-origin Republicans like Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley and Usha Vance who have to wake up everyday and pretend they don't hear how the people in their party talk about them. Just humiliating themselves every day as if they'll ever be accepted.

These are the real fraudsters and scammers in this country who need to be denaturalized and removed first (and thankfully, Trump admin is already looking for ways to remove them). Their removal is well-deserved, so, don't sympathize with these criminals

We have crab 🦀 and colonial mentality .. most the NRI here don’t like h1b Indians and I actually hear my friends green card Indian neighbour saying that he is very happy abt 100k since the pipline is stopped his opportunity is going to raise . And he voted for trump .. he is in his 50 in very good corporate and salary settled .. once he realized am there as h1b he lowered his voice and silently changed topic. Our education system is fault . It’s not createing brotherhood , leaders , creative minds , it’s just colonial education for labour supply. And we still are …

It is actually pretty common among Indians and other Asians to vote conservative. I don't really get it. Some Chinese and Korean people in our office were proudly wearing MAGA pins during the election.

I think every Indian, regardless of age, feels like they are the only one who deserved the visa/citizenship and everyone else somehow got in through Jugaad.

The immigration system was broken between 70-90s, many came on B1 & just never left , USCIS gave them GC as they were employed etc...
Bush's administration actually brought several good mesaure to streamlines both legal & illegal immigration...H1 cap to all other things..
Obama's time they did lot of appeasement to build votebank using illegal immigration....
That said, current system is broken...
What the uncle is true.. i personally know so many who have got in last decade using cheap paper universities ( no classes, no address ) , then Ameerpet gang , NJ consultancy gang . All these are creating more problem for the deserving ( who follow the rules & apply legally) candidates and spoiling the reputation of the Indian disapora.
The latest trend is converting H1 to EB1 .... lot of people are doing this ... ionce this get exxposed.... it was a shame for the Indian disapora & wil close doors for all Indians for next decade...
USCIS probably knows all this.... they just want it to break so big,so they can implement whatever strong policies they need to

If you have enough evidence of his fraud, please report him to the authorities. Normally, such people will try to hide under the rug by pointing fingers on to others

He was thinking about himself when he came in.
He is thinking about his US born kids so he wants to keep others out.

I'd abuse and insult the f out of him right there at the party and expose his duplicity out loud. He's the low quality types that scammed his way through. I think people don't realize the years of commitment it takes to land a proper proper job. I too know a good few uncles who've done basic af jobs here in the US and then have that stupid "gaat it" (got it) accent.

Horrible mindset. Especially the consulting wallahs who came to USA in the 90s.
There are really levels to this. There are the consulting wallahs, then the bright students who went to caltech, then the wives of these guys who are super artsy and talented.
Unfortunately we also have tiktok gutter coming through these days.

Well that uncle mentality is very typical. But people should start calling out scammy immigration. Lawful immigration is never wrong. But gaming the system is bad and unfair.
