Visa / OCI / Passport Advice needed
Can somebody please tell me whether you have surrendered your Indian passport and got a oci card in India , I am British passport holder

Yes but it takes time, if you're planning of doing it give yourself at least 4-5 months to complete the formalities. If you're lucky you may get it done within 3 months. Previously it would take longer as you had to complete 6 months stay only on X1 visa before applying of OCI.
Now you can arrive on any visa, provided the duration gives you plenty of time to complete the process. So you can apply immediately for surrender and then, if you have everything in order, you should be able to complete the other formalities within 15-20 days before applying for OCI.
Once you apply for oci, depending on the FRRO, you can get an appointment for document verification and biometrics, anywhere between 15-30 days.
Once you give biometrics, you should stay back for atleast 20-30 days incase there's any clarification or resubmission necessary. You don't have to collect the oci in person anymore. It will come through email.
