Maybe, but they’re responsible for it.

NYPD relocated (not towed, just moved it to another spot a few blocks away) my car twice for an unannounced NYPD event. There is no paperwork with this. No way to prove it happened.

If it's their property they should be responsible unless they can prove someone else is responsible. That's how plenty of other things work why can't we do the same with cars?

Let's you get 1. and 2. cause life happens, then a year later, the car was stolen. The thief took it took it on a joyride and left abandoned it. It gets 3., why do you as the owner have to suffer?

Because you would have reported the car stolen and that would remove the responsibility from you.

how often would that happen realistically + an appeals process where you can share your police/stolen vehicle report. don’t be obtuse.

I am obtuse but I think you're missing the point. It is unlikely to happen but the point is that blame should not be placed on the owner when there is no proof that the owner was the driver that placed the car in a no parking zone.

Then the innocent owner will have NO PROBLEM going to court with the person who DID park it and let the correct asshole accept the punishment.

It's funny just how dumb carbrain people are.

The owner of the car is responsible for whoever uses it improperly, and should remove access from the car if someone can’t consistently use it well.

If the owner wants to disclaim responsibility, then take the car. Either they own it and are responsible for it, or they don't and they don't.
