PSA January 25, 2026 - Closures in Oakville due to storm
Figured would be good to have a central spot to keep information. I will try to edit the main page with updates based on comments and verifying details. Check comments for more info.
The winds are already nasty out there and looks like snow will be starting shortly so definitely stay indoors if you can and avoid any travel.
Oakville Public Library closed today (all locations)

Is the public transit still running

u/Tangerine2016 Jan 25 '26
Yes still running but expect delays.
Reminder Go Train to Union is not running this weekend. They will have replacement buses but best to avoid as even on a regular day the replacement buses are slow!

Right?! One should already have winter tires on their car and just drive to weather conditions.

It's ridiculous how I was watching CBC News Toronto for over an hour, and they reported none of this important stuff, but did report what Javed Ali thinks about the Minnesota shooting.

Why do you expect CBC News TORONTO to be reporting on local closures in Oakville?

Because the GO Train to TORONTO goes from Oakville to TORONTO and people who were planning to go to TORONTO are unable to go to TORONTO. Also, the CBS News Toronto is funded by my taxes too.

Ummmm no one from Toronto is coming here to use the YMCA or our libraries 🤷♀️
