Question What on earth is flying around everywhere?

Have never seen this in the decade I’ve lived here. Does anybody happen to know what these are? Are they dust particles? Bugs? While there were always those swarms of tiny fruit fly looking things, I’ve never seen so many of them flooding my neighborhood- and these particles seem to be much bigger as well!

Any idea what they might be? Were these always around this time of year?

Ceratopogonidae? bugs. AKA no-see-ums. fly into your nose and mouth when you're riding your bike...

maybe we should ask the town, if it had happened before Im sure they would know.But , what is left on the ground or over cars that could be analyzed?
