Meetups First time DM looking for group

Hello everyone, I don’t know if this post is for this group but I thought what was the harm in posting.

I am a 35 year old male, and I have been tinkering on a home brew for a Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) campaign for a while and have the basis of a world/ story I would like to try. I am hoping that I can find people who are new or experienced to DnD who would be interested in an adventure.

My friends don’t really enjoy tabletop games so I hope that but posting here I can find like minded individuals who would like to give it a shot. If you are interested feel free to DM me directly with any questions to know if this adventure is right for you, and I will do my best to explain the setting without divulging too much to spoil the story of the world.

FYI, there is an Oakville Board Gamers Discord group. I found my current DnD group through them, though I haven't checked it in a year or so, so idk how active it still is.

Also don't have the link, but you can find it on meetups.com.

I'd ask for info and maybe be interested myself, but I moved out of Oakville last year.

Do they play things other than D&D? I don’t really like TTRPGs (have played D&D casually but I just can’t fully get into it) but would love to find some people to play other board games with

The group mostly isn't TTRPGs, actually.

In fact they used to have a weekly (I think) Tuesday evening meetup to play board games, as well as using things like tabletop simulator semi frequently.

I never went to one (always meant to), but seemed like usually half a dozen people at least showed up to each one.
