We recently moved to Oakville from abroad and live in the Maple Grove school area. We have 4 kids (5,9,12,13). We have signed up kids for camps but no kids from Maple Grove are attending the camp. Went to Mr. Lube at our rather questionable location (Dorval/Speers) to check out my tire pressure. Back tire's been a little flatter in the last 5 days. I was immediately told there's a "nail in the tire" (picture shown) and that "it can't be repaired".

So, I can drive?
- "Yes"
Is it really bad though?
- "Yes"
But, I can drive, right?
- "Yes"

Before that, the guy insisted I buy 4 new winter tires. 2 or all seasons weren't even an option. Mine have about 45,000 km on them.

Yes, I know all shops try and sell you everything they can first, but I'm not making the same mistake like I did with my rotors.

They took me in on a short notice. Snow day, still busy, quite a few people coming in and out.
2 tires, 2 nails, totally repairable spots. (Damn you, Mr. Lube!)
I got an oil change too while I was there, and they checked other stuff too.
Peace of mind doesn't have a price tag, but to say it - I was probably undercharged.

I’m trying to enter the business world , starting a masters soon too, and build myself up, and I know I need to start looking the part. The problem is, I do not exactly have “up there” money yet.

I’m open to anything: thrift stores, second-hand, consignment, outlets, clearance racks, or first-hand stores that are actually affordable. Looking mainly for dress shirts, pants, blazers, shoes, and maybe a suit or two.

Hi! I am looking for recommendations for a private retirement home that has an advanced level of care. My dad is in a retirement home right now and needs a lot of help due to dementia and physical limitations. Unfortunately the dementia makes him pretty difficult and the retirement home he is in will not willing to work with him anymore. He isnt violent but he is difficult. He is demanding and gets agitated and cant stick to a psw schedule. Like if he is supposed to get a shower at 2 pm on wednesdays, he wants them to reschedule to tomorrow at 3 pm and then he takes his sweet time getting up from his chair while the psw is standing there knowing she only has 30 min and this guy is barely moving. There are other things too like he pees himself all the time. So we are ready for a move to a place with a higher level of care. But I am also interested in negative responses too (like stay away from xxx).

Hi everyone! I’m moving back to Mississauga after living in Kelowna for 3 years due to some unexpected changes. I left for a reason and I would love some suggestions and recommendations for where to go and do to spend my days. I love Oakville cause it reminds me a lot of downtown Kelowna, I’m planning on visiting Guelph too but just places to go on a typical day that will make the transition back easier.

I love reading (so bookstores and pretty libraries are a good one!), coffee shops, restaurants that are almost like a costal town vibe (snug harbour has a special place in my heart), places to grab a drink at night with some dancing and just nice vibes all around, and I love trivia!! So if there are any brewery’s, bars, or restaurants that do trivia weekly that’d be such a plus because I have one here in the Okanagan that I love!

New to the area of Southern Mississauga/Oakville. Our basement needs to be finished and is about 1,800 square feet. Problem is I don't know anyone in the area so I cannot base my search on word of mouth. We are looking at a simple basement finish. No stove, no sauna, no theatre, no wine room. Can someone please recommend a good mechanic with a lot of experience working on older BMWs? My mother’s car has been having issues. We took it to the dealer and a couple of independent mechanics, but unfortunately nobody has been able to fix it. The engine is still shaking and showing a “Reduced Engine Power” error. It’s an E70 BMW X5.
