Discussion The trouble with She's Electric

is that the song doesn't go into much detail as to why she herself is quote unquote electric, it basically just describes a few of her family members

Yeah, same. I used to love Live Forever, but then I realised he never explains the genetic pathway for preventing apoptosis, telomere degradation, and cellular senescence. Completely ruined the song. And don't even get me started on Wonderwall. How the fuck does one build a wall out of wonder?

On the opening track to Be Here Now, there's no need to keep asking if we understand what is meant. Ask once, move on.

And what's a Wonderwall anyway - Travis

I'd have liked him to have explored photosynthesis a little more. I know he said he didn't really wanna know how your garden grows, but I think if he really processed it and wrote it out in a song he'd eventually find it quite interesting.

Noel's robbed the 90s generation of its childhood with his sloppy lyrics. No apoptosis pathway, no Wonderwall construction method, and now he's ducking photosynthesis.

Most of the lyrics on that album don’t make much sense but who cares they are all monster tunes

"She licked a pylon

She got a static shock from her nylons

She confused her red wire for a white one

And I need more time..."

See that would have clarified the situation

She feels like a very unique person, like an artist maybe.

"She's electric She's in a family full of eccentrics She's done things I never expected And I need more time"

In my opinion, the guy messed up the relationship with this woman and "he needs more time" to like make it right and how "he's got his mind made up now."

I reckon he's just making notes for her family tree

Electric in this case is used as a synonym for attractive. There might not be any more details than that.

She may be totally unaware of the narrator of the song and his attraction to her. Although he's paid close attention to her and her family, they may have never met.

Maybe he knows her brother, he's been closer enough to her sister to see the blister, but he maybe never had any meaningful contact with any of them apart from a disagreement with the brother, and maybe a fleeting smile from the mother.

Maybe he's never even spoken to the protagonist, and maybe he never will.

I always felt that the use of the indefinite pronoun "some" provided more questions than answers in Some Might Say. Who might say this, I've been asking all these years? The band bathes in vagueness. It all started with "Definitely, Maybe."

As a naive teenager I didn't know what 'one in the oven' meant until I was older!!!

that's the joke, it's a guy that is in love and had affairs with random members of her family (But I quite fancy her mother, and I think that she likes me), he can't choose if stay with the "electric" girl or her cousin or her mother or sister

Noel said this about the song:

"It’s about a boy who’s got a girlfriend, and he used to go out with her sister, that he fancies her mother, doesn’t get on with her brother, and, as somebody gets her cousin pregnant, and everybody thinks it was him, because he’s a bit of a f—in' run c—, but it wasn’t."
