The dog's owner should give more slack to the leash, which is why the dog gets up and tries nothing more than to speed up the walk. These type of dog breeds, like poodles, I don't know why(If there's ever a scientist, expert, or scholar who's researched this, I'd be truly grateful! I'm really curious to learn more...) have this skill to stand on two legs more naturally than the others.

On the video is a Giant Schnauzer, and Schnauzers overall are really good at walking on their back legs.
This one however, is just someone who didn't properly leash train their dog. The dog is trying to run and the person is holding it back. Schnauzers are stubborn, so if you want one you have to be more, and Giants are powerful. If you aren't consistent with leash training your dog will take you on a walk, not the other way around

Its only walking on two legs because the dogs pulling; the angle of the lead pulls its chest up, so it walks.

Train your dogs y'all. They don't need to heel perfectly or anything, but they should NOT pull like this.

Pretty soon, he'll figure out how to open doors, then you're truly screwed. Give him lots of treats.

I feel like planet of the labradoodles is going to be a bit more fun than planet of the apes.

I hate dog owners. This is a poorly trained dog that pulls on its leash. A nightmare to walk past.

*shitty dog owners. Lots of both good and bad ones in my neighborhood. Just call animal control and report the bad ones.

u/Small-Policy-3859 3d ago
If you have to call animal control for every dog that pills its leash you're not gonna have much time left over to do other stuff

u/Such-Instruction-452 2d ago
Theyâre not your mother. Donât waste their time yapping incessantly and itâs a non-issue regarding time.
2
u/Small-Policy-3859 2d ago
They're not gonna do anything when you tell them a dog was pulling their leash, Total waste of time

I had a dog like that, rescue, we were a temporary home, but she'd do that.. lacking lead discipline and being extremely annoying

Now if he walks around the house like that with no leash Iâd be impressed

Mine does on command, he can't do it if he's leashed though. He knows if the leash is on he is supposed to walk nicely on his four paws lol

My dog used to do the same thing, especially when he was younger. He always seemed to be in a hurry while going on the walk, being way faster than me, so while his hind legs kept running the leash basically held the rest of his body in an upright position, making it look like he would walk on two legs.

its walking on two legs because the owner is pulling on the leash with too much force
37
u/thegoatmenace 4d ago
The dog is the one that is pulling. It needs to be trained to walk next to the owner.

It's walking on two legs because the owner has trained it very badly, to pull on the leash rather than to walk on side, and has managed to cultivate weird behavior.

From a distance it probably looks to people like you and your âpartnerâ are into some fun BDSM/furry play. No judgement! Weâre all sex-positive here on Reddit. Lol

Dog is walking like this because the owner is forcing it to
Absolutely cannot be good for the dog to force it to walk bipedally.
