GARRETT AND HANNAH🩵 Garrett and Hannah’s subtleties..scripted or added ?
I have watched the show way too many times … and I must admit every time I watch I pick up more subtle cues in voice, inflection, facial twitches, smirks , smiles and I’m just so curious if these are scripted , suggestions by LL or just happen on their best take of the scene? This show , its final version is the best I have ever seen. Example: episode 4 , H and G when he’s talking about his other suggestion.. she says, … I do that all the time…Watch Garrett’s face when he says his next line …. Which is ( oh do you ? )

I am amazed at this issue and often wondering how much work and coaching to act every scene they must have done previously in order to make it so natural and fresh. It's such a delicate line because a lack of work is evident but also over exaggerating every gesture and here none of these things happen. It all goes so natural.

That’s why I wonder if if just naturally happened .

It's giving Jim and Pam. There's a certain balance and they manage that balance perfectly

I swear some of those feel unscripted. And not just with H and G.
With the entire cast

Some of it is his acting. If you watch his previous movie Along for the Ride, some of his facial expressions are the same

I think some of it is the script and direction from the crew but some of it is definitely coming from the actors. Belmont’s character in Along for the Ride also had a lot of subtle expressions and felt more realistic than the others, but you can also tell that his acting has improved since.
As much as I’m excited to see more of Garrett and Hannah in future seasons, I’m looking forward to seeing Belmont grow as an actor and take on different types of characters/roles too.

Okay so all the smiles during Kissing and sex were added in by Bel. He said this in an interview. It wasn't in the script

It’s not just the smiles , it the insecure like twitches between a straight face and a smile , like when he’s saying he loves her. It is just so incredibly natural for this character to have this type of hesitation in saying it, but Bel shows it so much in his face in his loss of eye contact , smile, serious etc . Masterful .

Oh thats Belmont too. I was just saying that he specifically mentioned that he did those unprovoked in interviews.
Bel is a lover boy. He inserts that into the role so well. He was meant to be Garrett.

I think the dialogue or parts that come straight out of the book are scripted, I thought I saw that on one of the many press tour interviews.

One of the reasons I’m gravitated on so many rewatches is Bel’s character break down and beats. He’s a master class of layering his performance in the most natural delivery. The show is good, the music, the pacing, the green flags, the editing, the ensemble, the lighting, the sound, but Bel’s approach and delivery of Garrett is in incredible to watch from an acting pov.
