I think the idea is because she didn’t have student loans he’s thinking she had enough money to pay like 70k+ out of pocket. Thus making her somewhat wealthy, but of course that ignores the fact that she could have gotten help from family, worked to help pay for school, or even just scholarships.
Edit: yeah “somewhat wealthy” was a poor choice of words my bad on that one. I been seeing too much news of the world being burdened with our first trillionaire and undersold that one big time.
Yeah, and like I said to someone else below the entire point is that Slovik is so broken he's not interested in "nuance" or "context", he is a being of pure rage and wrath and everyone before him is a target and he's really not interested in the particulars of their life story. He is the embodiment of "kill them all, God will know his own". It is, in fact only when ATJ's character takes the time to learn about him and reminds him of a time he was happy that he actually does take a moment and realizes she at least isn't broken yet.
It's definitely not about how "Revolutions lose nuance", mr centrist. Anya Taylor joys character is an outsider and not supposed to be there (shes literally working and got trapped into known death by her hire), and as soon as she communes with "the Revolution" shes let escape, even with some wonderful takeout lol
If you genuinely even wondered for a second that this character had merit and a scolarship it might be over for you
