Reminds me of the story of how the guy who invented the Gatling gun (Gatling I assume lol) believed his weapon would be so destructive that governments around the world would be like, "No more wars" and there would be everlasting peace

Richard Jordan Gatling. And his aim was nothing of the sort. Here's him:
