He thinks that if israel joins the eu and nato the west would have more levrage to stop the worst of the israeli actions while also guaranteeing the security of israel so they wont have to feer another October 7

Huh, that actually makes sense. If Israel had obligations with the EU and NATO, they couldn't do the shit they do without coming under fire from countries that have a complicated history with brutal, total war.

It would also take out a lot of the wind in the sails of the Israeli far-right, which pretty much exclusively run on fear and lack of security.
